This hotel is located a few hundred yards away from the boundry of Makati. It's close to the Market Market mall and Fort Bonifacio but without the high costs of the upscale hotels.
My wife and I stayed here for 5 days over the -06 Christmas season.
We paid $30(1500PHP) a night.
There are two main buildings that make up the property. One towards the road is newly built and very nice. This is where the smaller rooms are located.
There is a much larger structure back from the street that is still under construction. This new portion of the property features 3 stories with luxury rooms, a spacious banquette room, and even escalators.
The room that we stayed in was clean and neat but not very big.
The bathroom was normal size for this type of room and there was no tub, just the Pinoy styled shower. The water heater is electric and mounted inside the shower (typical in this area) and the volume of water that flowed when on the hot setting was not enough. The toilet was a western style and size.
The bed was about as good as could be expected in this type of hotel, hard with just a sheet.
The air conditioning seemed to work well and was reasonably quiet as well.
The TV was in good working condition with many clear channels available.
The staff there was nice but seemed a bit understaffed. I'm guessing because the entire hotel is not completed and there are only a few people that stay there at one time.
There are (guessing) 10-12 rooms in the front house and there is a spacious restaurant on the ground floor. The tables are there, the cooks are cooking but there are no guests even at the restaurant.
In regards to security, I felt very safe there. There are guards in shifts that watch over the property, all equipped with short barrelled shotguns.
There are two pools there, one more of a wading pool for the kids and the other a bit too small for me.
We didnt swim or test the water.
We look forward to staying at the Grand Villa when it has been completed and there is a complete staff in place.
My only big complaint was having to call many times to have the toilet attended to. As soon as they tended to it there were no further problems.
It's not on directly in the city and that makes it more difficult to find a taxi to get around. If you are not too sexy to ride a tricycle to get out to town, you should enjoy staying here.
