“no fridge”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 January 2010

I stayed at grand villa hotel on june 2008, we occupied the big room with fridge. the room was alright and clean. then our second visit we move to a medium size of room, i can say that im not happy on that room coz for me we pay to much but the service and room was not great. all hotel that i visit has a fridge but on this hotel just the big and expensive room only have a fridge which is not fair. they should provide all rooms a fridge either its small or big. then we have a friend also staying on the same size of room that weve got then he is not happy as well on his room then he complain to the receptionist but they dont do anything, he need a fridge on his room as well for his cream stuff for his skin but they say they can move the fridge on his room but he need to pay 300 i think, which is not good. why that much? i can say that this hotel is new only so they should need very helpful to their customer. and maybe the manager should visit to another hotel so they have an idea how to run a hotel. i will be happy if they put each room a fridge thats only my complain. i love to stay on this hotel because this is near to my family's house but im dissapointed.

“My Engagement Ring Was Stolen...And The Management Dont Care...”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2009

We booked our stay before September 05, 2009. It was a full payment. Then the date arrived. we are 2 hours behind the check-in time. To our surprise the room that we booked was occupied by another person. I think its their wedding. I complain to the management and to compensate our concern, they offer us a much bigger room. Offerring a bigger room will not change fact that they are not organized.

My terrible experience did not end there. It was a great monday morning September 7, 2009. I took a bath, and I do not want my engagement ring ( 14K gold with 5 zirconia stone) and a silver bracelet to be wet by the water. I put it on the silver doorknob, since there is no place where I can place it ( I can put it near the faucet and the toilet bowl for our soap, toothpaste is on. One wrong moved and is bye-bye to the ring and bracelet.

I did double everything before we check out that day but I did not remember that I leave the ring at the silver doorknob until I got home and it was already an hour ago before me and my husband decide to get out of our house to tour his australian friend. We ruch back to the hotel but the room was cleaned already and when we asked who clean the room. the chamber maid said they do not have it .

I go to the police station to report what happend and the police tell me to talk first to the manager. Which I did. I explained to the maneger what happen but no action was made bthe manager . He just said " mam, you can file a demand .....".... The management did not even have us check the chambermaid room or locker .... or have us checked their bagged.

As per my legal advise and since my husband can't stay here longer for he is an australian citizen. If we file a demand it will incur us more money and time. The amount stolen from me was amounting P20,000. And if you file it will rose.... And if it so happend that it was proven... those chamber maid cannot pay... for they will lose the job and no one will hire them anymore....

So in the end ... I did not file any demand .... up to now I am longing for my engagedment ring not because of price but because of it sentimental value....This hotel gave me a bad wedding day memory.....

I hope by this ... I can stop, and alert traveller on what kind of company they have....If you doubted what is in here. You are alwasy free to chek it at Pateros police station. I reported it and it should be on file.

“New Hotel Off the Beaten Path”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2007

This hotel is located a few hundred yards away from the boundry of Makati. It's close to the Market Market mall and Fort Bonifacio but without the high costs of the upscale hotels.

My wife and I stayed here for 5 days over the -06 Christmas season.

We paid $30(1500PHP) a night.

There are two main buildings that make up the property. One towards the road is newly built and very nice. This is where the smaller rooms are located.

There is a much larger structure back from the street that is still under construction. This new portion of the property features 3 stories with luxury rooms, a spacious banquette room, and even escalators.

The room that we stayed in was clean and neat but not very big.

The bathroom was normal size for this type of room and there was no tub, just the Pinoy styled shower. The water heater is electric and mounted inside the shower (typical in this area) and the volume of water that flowed when on the hot setting was not enough. The toilet was a western style and size.

The bed was about as good as could be expected in this type of hotel, hard with just a sheet.

The air conditioning seemed to work well and was reasonably quiet as well.

The TV was in good working condition with many clear channels available.

The staff there was nice but seemed a bit understaffed. I'm guessing because the entire hotel is not completed and there are only a few people that stay there at one time.

There are (guessing) 10-12 rooms in the front house and there is a spacious restaurant on the ground floor. The tables are there, the cooks are cooking but there are no guests even at the restaurant.

In regards to security, I felt very safe there. There are guards in shifts that watch over the property, all equipped with short barrelled shotguns.

There are two pools there, one more of a wading pool for the kids and the other a bit too small for me.

We didnt swim or test the water.

We look forward to staying at the Grand Villa when it has been completed and there is a complete staff in place.

My only big complaint was having to call many times to have the toilet attended to. As soon as they tended to it there were no further problems.

It's not on directly in the city and that makes it more difficult to find a taxi to get around. If you are not too sexy to ride a tricycle to get out to town, you should enjoy staying here.
