“Fantastic Breakfast Buffet”

I recently stayed 2 nights in the superior deluxe room. Overall I enjoyed my visit and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to others.

One of the best features of this hotel was the roof top pool and restaurant. It offers one of the best views over Makati and is an excellent opportunity for snapping pictures of the city skyline.
The view from my room on the 18th floor was also superb.

The rooms are of decent size and I particularly found the bathroom to be of high standard. They replaced all the complimentry dental kits, soaps & shampoos every day along with the 2 bottles of water. Initially I did not know how to get the power working as I was not shown to my room, but I phoned down to reception and was told to place the door card in the power outlet which rectified the problem. This means you can not have the air con running while you are out.

The only negative comment I have about the room is about the air con being too noisy. I had to sleep with ear plugs to block out the noise and it did not seem to make the room very cool. Possibly the unit is quite old and could do with replacing.

The breakfast buffet here is one of the best I have ever eaten. they have something for everyone to suit the taste and it is all included in the cost of the room. I think it is worth staying here just for the breakfast alone.

The hotel is well situated within a 15 minute walk to Glorietta mall where you can easily get on the MRT line. The are also plenty of taxis in the area and the hotel will assist you with getting a cab.

Ive stayed here many times....the hotel is quite old now but you can see that it has been regularly upgraded and still looks fresh inside. Staff are very polite and speak excellent English. Place smells great because they are always polishing the marble floors on a daily basis. Beds are very comfortable...free WiFi in all rooms...good furniture. Bathrooms are great with complimentary toothbrushes, shampoo, soap, shoe shine mits, sewing kits etc.

“So Normal , Boringly Good!”

Every time I am in manila I stay here and that says it all really. Its not cheap, its not exciting , its not new and its not flashy . It's simply good and well run.
Nice efficient and friendly staff, lovely roof top pool, nice clean rooms but the one and only problem is those b...dy lifts !! There are only two and they are so slow so don't be in a hurry!
The hotel is busier than ever now so make sure you book and dont pay more than $100. Its unusual but the best deals are probably direct with the hotel.

Room Tip: All the rooms are nice but the penthouses are great value

“Great Hotel, Great Value!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

We stayed at BSA Mansion Condotel our first night in Manila, and it was a nightmare, it was disgusting, dirty, smelly and infested with cockroaches. We had booked for two nights and left after the 1st night after having paid for two, it wasn't worth it! We found City Garden hotel and it was a big relief. The executive deluxe room was $100 CAD, compared to the $60 CAD we paid at BSA. It was like night and day. City Garden was modern, clean, well maintained and very comfortable. Its also in a great location, and it a highrise so no noise from street level on higher levels. The room was nice, very comfortable bed/linens, fully stocked bar and clean. Couldn't ask for a better room at the price, I was surprised it was so cheap actually. This is easily a 3-4 star hotel. There is a rooftop restaurant/bar and pool which was terrific and a great view of the city. Next morning had a full breakfast buffet included. Great Value, Great Stay!

“Nice Hotel, Inexperienced Staff”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

Stayed here for a total of 4 nights at different times throughout my trip to the Philippines. The hotel is located in a great location in Makati close to many bars and restaurants. My rooms were comfortable, clean, and had great views of the city. There was a safe in the room and WiFi seemed to be working most of the time. The top of the hotel had a gym, bar/restaurant, and small pool with great views. Breakfast was included. It was decent and consisted of both Asian and western items. My only complaint with this hotel was the service. The staff was friendly and tried to be helpful, but it seemed like it was their first day on the job. They had almost no knowledge of the surrounding area and weren't very helpful with recommendations. We had arranged a pick up from the airport through City Garden, but nobody ever showed up and we had to take a taxi. We had an early departure one of the mornings and had arranged for our breakfast to be prepared for "take out", but that never happened. I would still stay here again because it is a comfortable hotel once you get past the nuances. Until City Garden improves their service and properly trains their employees, this will remain just an average hotel.
