My husband and I always plan everything before we go to a vacation and that includes looking for a hotel to stay a month before we go. This is the first and the worst problem we encountered with a hotel.
Atenara House looked nice and cozy at their website. We called the manager, had our reservation and payed half the whole fee for a 10 day-stay through money transfer. He told us, atenarA house is old now and they will accommodate us in the "Safari Lodge" instead which is far better than Atenara where they keep their guests who want to stay at the Atenara.
Well, it sucks! Because we went there. The place was not inviting. There were very little rooms, the beds are not comfortable and they are small. The curtains are old and dirty. The rooms do not have heater. You will freeze to death, it was around 8 degrees when we went there and it was windy at 5:00am. The bathrooms suck. The tiles are broken as well.
We left and had to look for another hotel. Just imagine, we did that at 5h30 in the morning.
We found a good one Baguio Burnham Suites. Before we left the Atenara, the manager agreed to refund as the money but it took a long week before he could give us back 14k pesos and it was done on an installment basis.
Do u imagine how inconvenient it is to call her everyday because she gives a date when we will meet and then she doesn't come? And it happened on a vacation. She even gave us a check to be encashed at the bank, when we did, there was insufficient fund at her account.
Well, we still managed to get the money through the receptionist at the lobby of the burnham suites where we stayed but it was very inconvenient.
Just an advise for those who want to visit Baguio! Just want you to avoid inconvenience :)
Have a nice trip :)
