“A truly relaxing experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 October 2010

The Ridgewood was the 3rd hotel we looked at right after arriving in Baguio. & we instantly fell in love with the place. It has a very cozy ambiance, with friendly & accommodating staff. The surrounding was very quiet. & the food was really good, especially their home made tinapa. It was the perfect place for a truly relaxing stay in Baguio.

“A different kind of noise”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 February 2010

Simply the loudest hotel I've stayed in. This is due to a farm of fighting cocks on one side and a pack of dogs on the other. The roosters woke up around 3am and did not stop making CONTINUAL noise until mid afternoon. The dogs made noise throughout the entire day- there was even a St. Bernard in a cage.

The beds were small and wrapped in some noisy plastic covering. So were the pillows.

The room was filthy. The vent in the bathroom had about an inch of moldy dust on it. Daily we had a new collection of hairs all around the room. I spilled some iced tea in the room and asked the housekeeper to clean it up (I showed him where it was). 2 hours later, it was still there. Noone replaced the toiletries when the room was closed and I had to get soap from the lobby.

On the positive side- the free breakfast was decent and there was a room for drivers. The driver's room rate was ~$10 per night. The staff really tried.

“Lonely Planet over-rated this place”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2010

If you're at ALL sensitive to noise from roosters and dogs (roosters in abundance in the adjacent rural residences, with what sounds like a dog farm at night on one side at least) then skip this place entirely. Also on my unpleasant annoyances list: plastic-lined beds and pillows, like someone's anal-retentive grandma insisted on this. I had a miserable night because of this & can't wait to check into the Hotel Elizabeth up the street, where they virtually guarantee this won't happen again, have far better amenities, and a lower cost, at least considering the off-season 30% promo discount.

“Nice pleasant stay in Ridgewood”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 August 2009

Booking was very easy in this hotel. I first made inquiries through email and received a promt reply. I finally booked through telephone and they did not require me to give out my credit card or required a deposit. Check in was very fast. We were booked for 2 days but they gave me the option to settle just the 1st night on the first day. I settled in full on the 2nd night. Check out was also very fast. All the staff were very polite, always happy to serve. We booked the apartelle B that had 1 bedroom, toilet and bath, kitchen, dining area, living room with a sofa bed with a pullout bed, fireplace and 2 TV units. Not much room decor but clean. Only problem was the shower curtain that was dirty but I informed the reception about it and they changed the curtain immediately. The small reception area and the restaurant are in a cozy setting.

First night we slept well, no disturbances. Second night, or morning, we woke up to 2 roosters crowing. It lasted for about 30 minutes, after that we went back to sleep.

Free buffet breakfast wasn't lavish but enough to start your day in a full stomach. First day consisted of: Rice, hotdog sarciado, boiled eggs, ham, cheese, slice bread, 2 kinds of cereals, milk, juice, and fruits - pineapple and papaya. Second day: rice, scrambled eggs, chicken adobo, 3 kinds of cold cuts, cheese, embutido, 2 kinds of cereals, milk, juice and fruits - pineapple, papaya and watermelon.

Location is near the mansion. We brought our own car so we got around easily. The hotel is not at the city center but it's still in a good location because Baguio is just a small city.

hi im raquel, i stayed their just for a day. my sister stayed their for three days for a seminar. malayo kasi sa town thats why dun na ako sa place ng cousin ko nag stay. the location is very good, very relaxing. but the room and the bed is too small for a twin sharing. and mas maganda sana if per room ang charge nyo not per head. just dont know if gnun tlaga pag package deal. but anyway, the guys at the front desk are accomodating, also the waiters. i like your lobby!
