“Cozy place and lay back”

This hotel has good location, 5 minutes walking distance to The Mansion and Wright Park, 5 minutes car ride to Mines View and its easy to reach by public transportation.

The room is clean, nice and big. But the bed was too thin for me. The bathroom was okay (clean and big) with hot water.
We took the room with veranda. I enjoyed my early morning coffee in the veranda while watched the sun rise.

The breakfast was not so good, because it only served one Filipino menu with cereal and bread (also coffee or juice). FYI, your room rates include free breakfast for 2.

We had our lunch there and the food was okay with reasonable price.
The staff was nice and helpful. There was one staff there, who remembered us and knew our orders.

“Baguio Memories”

My family and I have been going up to Baguio since the 60's. It became an annual ritual so to speak. We have stayed in several places through the years. We discovered Ridgewood accidentally through my new daughter-in-law.The first time we stayed there (4 rooms if I am not mistaken), we had so much fun. We felt that we were not away from home.It was cozy, clean and quiet. The restaurant was small but the foodservers were pleasantly warm and attentive. The food was not expensive at all. The frontdesk staff were approachable.Even the Manager made sure that everybody was comfortable. We have gone back to Ridgewood two or three times already after our first trip...and this we have to say, given the time, we will definitely go back to Ridgewood where good memories of our family Baguio vacations are made..

Room Tip: We chose rooms that are on the same level as the restaurant for convenience..Nevertheless, they have...

“hesitant to return unless my requests are noted in writing.”

My Summary: Huge room, very small bed, small bathroom, unimpressive front desk.

We traveled as a family and chose this hotel because a friend recommended it --quiet and spacious room. Generally, the hotel is nice to look at. We had a huge room that could fit a group of ten but the bed was terribly small. It wasn't a queen, as requested, but it was not a twin bed either. It was like a box in a middle of a warehouse. I did not request for an additional bed as the three of us can normally sleep comfortably in a queen and I assumed it would be the same. Big mistake.

I asked the front desk why it was not a queen bed as requested but was told that they ran out of queen bed. Hello, I paid for that kind of bed so I should have been told of their decision to change it. The guy on the phone offered an extra roll away bed for my son for an additional fee. What a rip-off. I declined as I felt that the amount of money I'd be paying for would be almost the same amount we'd pay for if we stayed at the Manor. And the food would much greater over there. The breakfast buffet was also unimpressive. On the first breakfast, I only took some food from their not-so-buffet-table for a start but when I went back to the table to get some more, the old lady scooping the food was hesitant to give me. She said that we had a child so we should pay extra because we were only paying for two persons. What a first day! I went to the front desk to call their attention of the incident.

The hotel surely needs a lot of improvement with their client service. The approach was very inappropriate that it would make guests feel insulted -- exactly the same feeling I had. That alone would make me remove them on my list of preferred hotels in Baguio.

At around 11:00 P.M. that night, our driver knocked on our door, which almost scared us. Apparently, he was waken up by the hotel concierge/parking security and was told that we asked for him, which we did not. To add to this, the next morning, he knocked again around 5:45 AM and told us that he was waken up again by the same parking security and was told that we asked for him again! What was wrong with these people?

After breakfast, I called again the attention of the front desk but this time, I told him that our stay had been uncomfortable from the time we checked in till the time we were checking out. I also said that with the experience we had, I'd be very hesitant to recommend them to anyone.

Room Tip: room is designed for a big group, not a small family.

“away from city congestion, loved the natural pine scent w/c i thought is already gone in Baguio”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 May 2011

My name is Ian we went there early this year for a seminar. If you want a real vacation, this is the place. I don't mind the roosters, I'm a heavy sleeper. Besides, although Baguio is a city, it is also in the province. The food is great especially the baked longanisa w/ salted eggs for breakfast and the stuffed chicken wings we had for dinner, hmmm deliciously innovative. They also served salads and fresh fruits. The service is also great. We're already planning to go back probably this december.

“A truly relaxing experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 October 2010

The Ridgewood was the 3rd hotel we looked at right after arriving in Baguio. & we instantly fell in love with the place. It has a very cozy ambiance, with friendly & accommodating staff. The surrounding was very quiet. & the food was really good, especially their home made tinapa. It was the perfect place for a truly relaxing stay in Baguio.
