“TRIP TO BAGUIO 2012”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 February 2012

It was my first time in baguio (feb.8-10,2012). During the planning period, I was worried where can i stay in baguio. Searching in the net, I saw Hotel Veniz. First I consider the location of the hotel since our time was limited. Location is ok, accessible to all. I called the hotel and make a reservation. when we arrived baguio at 430 AM, we proceed and early check in in the hotel. All duty staff were so hospitable. After settlement in FO, we proceed to our assigned rooms. I was shock what norman F commented that the room is dirty infacts its not... napakataas lang ng standard nya... basta ang room is very ok for me. With regards to food, well its ok for me, wala akong masabi kasi we enjoyed eating what they served in the buffet.

In general, location wise is very ok for this hotel, malapit sa burnham park, market, at mga sobiners shops. malapit pa sa night market that start 9pm to 12 midnight. Staffs are very accommodating ( special mention to Homer). If given a chance to go back to baguio, i will stay again in this hotel.

Room Tip: 316 room is the best...

“Right in the middle of the city”

Booking onto Hotel Veniz was easy. We checked it out online, compared it with other fine hotels and the reservation was efficiently handle by Angel, who was very nice and accommodating. The hotel location is best, right in the middle of downtown Baguio, corner of Abanao, Harrison Road, and Magsaysay Avenue, very near lower Session Road, across the market and Burnham park, a 7-11, a grocery store, and a Mc Donald's. Very accessible, easy for any form of transport.

The room was nice, clean and quiet. Our room even had this mini ref, which was very convenient. A buffet breakfast awaited us in the morning, not too many choices but the food was great. Wifi network was a little weak in our room and there was also the case of the missing TV remote.

Overall, we had a wonderful stay, we even wanted to extend.

“Not suitable for westerners”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

I stayed at the Veniz Jan 2012, never again. I was dissapointed in all aspects of the hotel. The whole staff have NO IDEA as to what a westerner wants. A carefull read of the review shows that most Philipinos are happy and most westerners arent happy.
Food was basically inedible, cold and seriously wierd to my western palate. Would you like a ham and tuna salad for breakfast? Perhaps some cold sweet sausages and cold green beans with dried whole mini fish ? (see another review dated 13 May 2011 ). Coffee was brewed rubbish, milk was powdered, so was the orange juice, bread was sweet, bread rolls the size of golf balls were even sweeter, toaster was a 2 slice griller for the whole hotel, butter was floating in ice water and totally unspreadable.Jam was like runny water, you had to apply it to your toast by pouring it on with a spoon, which was ok because they didnt supply knives, I got a steak knife on request. Somewhat confused as to why I would want hot food, staff did microwave my plate of cold eggs and sweet sausages, but in true Veniz style, just for 1 minute at a time. And thats just breakfast.
Staff were confused and generally not aware of my needs nor informed nor helpfull. Think Fawlty Towers "Manuel" , just not funny. I wanted a photocopy, they just couldnt, and sugested (uninformed guess) several wrong/closed/distant places. Same for changing denominations of local currency,no they cant change a large note. They didnt know where anything was in their town, when it was open, etc, all the things a westerner would expect staff to know.
The stone (?) corridors meant the room was REALLY noisy, all outside noise boomed through out room. Every morning at 6, banging doors and toilets flushing and loud speaking etc etc woke us up. The rooms were dirty, walking barefoot on the carpet turned your feet BLACK ! Bathroom dirty, grout black. And so on...
This hotel is not suitable for westerners unless you can tolerate the above listed features.

Room Tip: Rooms at the far end of the corridors are furthest (and quietest ) from the smoking / hanging out/ l...

“Ok hotel, lousy parking”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

I was here in the most expensive suite after Christmas time for few nights. I found the hotel ok, although you can already see it's old and would need new modern touch.

The room itself was nice, big balcony and parkview.. price was ok.
Hotel restaurant is also serving food which is reasonable priced, breakfast buffet typical Filipino buffet with rice, not much to eat for international taste. Well it's free anyway.

Walking distance from the SM mall and around the corner you can get cheap second hand clothing. Under the same roof is also McDonalds if you like to grab a burger.

Only real negative thing in this hotel is the basement parking. As this is a big hotel with a lot of rooms, a parking area which can only accommodate around 30 cars is not enough. And if you will arrive later afternoon/night, the parking is already closed and full. Even you would get a place, the basement is full and every time you leave, you need to wait for the hotel staff to look for another car owners to move their cars as all is double parked. Around the corner there is a gasoline station which is charging 150PHP per night for parking on their yard, that's high price but for few nights that's a good option.

Room Tip: I would recommend the Premiere Suite for more quite sleeping and for nice huge balcony with park vie...

Been referring this place to friends and business associates for almost 3years now and last month i had the opportunity to stay in one of their superior double occupancy room as i have to stay with my visiting relatives and their friends for some requested assistance during their stay in town. During arrival, we were quickly shown to our rooms after a few minutes of confirming our reservation, hotel staff were very professional and accommodating, the rooms were clean and cozy, very good standard, and well maintained. A free daily breakfast for the rest of our stay was included with the rate, food is served at Cafe Veniz, also their staff are very professional and food is great. We also get to try Mongolian Buffet at Veniz Grill which is also a part of the Hotel, this i would strongly recommend to fellow travelers, all in all, my experience with the place is GREAT!

Room Tip: Always make a reservation in advance cause this hotel is almost always full the whole year 'roun...
