“Good location and can be booked online”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 February 2011

Because I got scared that Baguio might be full even in January, I looked for the possibilities for reservation, and the only possibility I found with online booking was El Cielito. And luckily, it was in a good location. The room itself is average. What is bad is the bed: It was a mattress on top of a board. Sleep quality was definitely poor. And they did not provide water. With a no-frills type of service, it was overpriced.

“not the best but one of the better place”

The staff are courteous and helpful in times of need. The rooms are clean and new and well adorned and equipped with what you need. As a vacationer who wants a respite from the hustle bustle of a city life, this place should be on top of your list when visiting the City of Pines. The location is quite accessible from about anywhere and taking a cab is not a problem at all in case you're not mobile or had checked in without your own transport.

If you have been a frequent guest in the past, you can surely request for a discount and they would readily oblige with a smile.

“El Cielito Inn - Walking Distance from SM Baguio”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 August 2010

El Cielito Inn is an accommodation provider located 3-5 minutes away from the Victory Liner Terminal and is walking distance from SM Baguio. One month before our scheduled Baguio trip, I decided to reserve through their website (http://www.elcielito-baguio.com). Their online reservation was great! I received my instant confirmation in less than 24 hours with no hassle and with no additional cost. When we arrived in the City of Pines, I and my friends decided to check-in immediately at this property since we were so tired from a 6-hour bus trip from Manila. Upon entering, we were all welcomed by the receptionist with a great smile on her face. In less than 5 minutes, we were already escorted to our room by the bell boy.

We stayed at their executive suite. It’s good for 4-6 persons and it has 2 bedrooms with one sofa bed. The room was complete in amenities (bathroom amenities, clean towels, clean bed sheets, refrigerator, etc.), and is also equipped with air-conditioner. Although you won’t be using those since Baguio is known for its cold weather.

The room also have two clean bathrooms, all equipped with hot and cold shower. Three cabled televisions were available for us to enjoy. The cabinets were large enough to keep all our clothes and hangers were provided for dresses and jackets.

El Cielito Inn has two buildings: The old building and the new building. Our room is located in the new building that’s why our room looks and feels brand new. I think it’s ok to request for a room located in the new building if you decided to stay there.

They provide a cozy ambience, which is perfect since it’s always cold in the city. The people working there also add coziness to the ambience because of their warm smiles and friendly attitude. Waiters of The Voyager (The Restaurant) are all courteous and pleasant.

However, I need to warn you about the food that they are serving. It’s a bit expensive and the servings are small. While your accommodation provides a complimentary breakfast, the choices are very limited. With regards to WiFi, they offer two sets of WiFi connection. The free WiFi connection is only available on the restaurant and reception area. The free connection doesn’t reach the accommodation rooms and that will leave you no choice but to avail of their 90 pesos per hour WiFi Internet connection. Yes it’s a bit pricey but it’s fast.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay here and I wish to come back with my loved ones so they can experience what it feels like to stay in El Cielito Inn – Baguio.

“Zero Piso...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 April 2010

My girlfriend and I stayed here over the weekend.
TV was 13" (?) small but looked BIG in the small room.
Had breakfast and dinner in the restaurant. Service lacks management. I had to get up and go find the staff to get a refill of drink twice. Had to find the waitstaff sitting at the bar chatting with the cook. Asked for the check and was promptly given the check and was faster than a speeding bullet to bring my change. Perhaps expecting a BIG tip for the incredible service. I left ZERO Piso.
Our last night was terrible. A touring political group checked in and was placed next to our room. All night they ran back to each of the rooms, hollering and general talking to each of the rooms.
I called Front Desk at 1AM and was told they would investigate. Nothing was done and the villagers continued talking until checking out at 9AM.

Totally useless Waitstaff and equally qualified reception. There are other hotels equally valued and will stay there on our next trip.

“Nice hotel, good location but unfriendly crew and staffs.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 April 2010

Location - place of this hotel is not that bad, located near session road, 5 minute walk to SM Baguio, 20 minute walk to Burnham. It is still best to stay in a hotel located around the baguio plaza, Burnham Park.

Service - Service is not good. It will be a big help if you guys from the management of this hotel send your employees/crew to basic trainings so they won't be able to see an invisible sign inside the hotel that reads "Smiling is prohibited!" They are not as helpful as the other hotel i have stayed in Baguio. Not attentive, not polite and not approachable at all. Everything that's nice about our accomodation was dragged by the unfriendliness of the crew (except for the girl housekeeper who is always greeting and appraising the customers, thanks girl).

Price - price is expensive considering their service. I booked via travel agency, i was just inquiring about the receipt of the charged expense and the front desk attendants is not even polite enough to tell that the agency will be the one to issue this. I was about to pay the additional expenses because another guest of ours came, and guess what they even forget to note for the additional guest costs. And when i was trying to pay using a credit card, they told me electricity was shut and that all their POS is turned off so if i can wait for a few minutes to give them time to turn on the generator. What electricity returned, i approached the front desk people once again but when they tried to swipe the card (for several times) i was advised that their terminal is not working. Gosh! So i settled using cash.

Rooms and Facilities - clean and neat

Food - okay except for the unpoliteness of the head crew/chef/manager of the dining area when they told us that there are only 2 complimentary breakfast for us although we are 3 (guests) in our room.

COnsidering this is the first time for my parents to stay in Baguio, i cannot forget the hassles this hotel brought to us. I would like to stress here that the hotel is good and nice, but the crew here is unfriendly. There are lot of hotels for you looking for quality time in Baguio.
