“I'm definitely going back there, except that...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 August 2010

As of today (September 2010), the hotel, I've heard, has been torn-down. They are constructing a new, better one, which is scheduled to open by February 2011 in time for the Panangbenga Festival in Baguio.

And it's always the price - if the price is still the same, then I'm definitely going back there. It's one of the budget hotels that provide value-for-money, good service, security, privacy, and accessibility. They have rooms that accomodate a group of 5-6 pax which allows lower cost/head. The front-desk and even the restaurant/bar personnels are also very friendly and helpful. There's a security guard posted at the front door. And this is almost walking distance to restaurants in the city as well.

Nevertheless, the location is what i like best. It's near to everything. When we grew tired of walking, we'll just head back to the hotel and rest.

One other thing, in one of the reviews here, they're saying that the place is haunted. We did experience the similar thing. In our case, there was a knock on the door, but no one was in the hallway.

“Terrible!”

The rooms don't look clean. The carpet was dirty. The bathroom was clogged. Couldn't get enough sleep as there were buildings being constructed on all sides. We only stayed here because all the other decent hotels were booked.

“One of the best bang for the buck hotel”

City Light hotel is one of the cheapest hotel in Baguio that will give you value for your money. Their room are nice, not so small but just enough for the three of us. Room service is quick too and they are polite.

No free wifi when we stayed their but when went back on April, we stayed in a bigger room good for 8 people and we got a free wifi signal on that room. Maybe thats from a restaurant somewhere.

They also got a restaurant and bar in front. Food is nice and the price is okay too. Parking in front is only good for 4 vehicles but they got another 6 slots at the back. City Light is just 5 minute walk from SM (Mall) and 2 minutes from the Cathedral and 10 minutes from Burnham Park. You can leave your car if you are just going to those places.

I'll give this hotel 4 out of 5 mainly because of their pricing.

“dreadful”

we stayed there for only one night, the room was ok in size and cleanliness, location is good though these are the things that really turned the group off:
1. the security latch on the door is broken.
2. hot shower is not working.
3. parking space is inadequate. there are 6 or maybe seven parking slots only available to how many rooms they have. we have to park on the side streets.
4. we were mistakenly, unceremoniously waken from our sleep at 2:50 a.m to move our car because we were blocking another guest car who going home from a whole night partying, the said CAR IS NOT OURS.
5. you can hear from your room all the NOISE! from the bar/party area up until 3:00am. me and my daughter were not able to sleep until they close shop. they don't even have the courtesy of informing us that the room we're in would be that noisy.
6. walls were thin, you can hear all the banging of doors, talking, walking and shouting of guest when the pass by the corridor.
7. bed sheets were threadbare, same as the pillowcases and worst doesn't even fit the pillow. towels were like rags.
8. view outside of the window are laundries hanging from the other building, nothing else.

“Haunted?”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 December 2008

We stayed there for two nights in a room with x2 double beds. The hotel itself if standard- nothing too flash. but weird things happened. when we first arrived, the door was locked. as my friend proceeded to lean on the door whilst her husband went and got the key from the lobby, the door 'magically' opened. that night we had a good sleep, however we woke to find our door open (luckily the latch prevented the door drom being fully open!). and the following night my two friends went out leaving me alone. they MADE SURE they locked the door (due to the events of the previous night). i went to sleep and when they returned, they asked me if i had left the room (because the door had been 'magically' opened once more). i'm not the superstitious type but this was weird...the communal shower and toilet are small. adequately clean. the light switch didnt work at one stage but the handyman quickly restored it.
