A comfortable no frills hotel on Beach Road with secure parking- unfortunately the sea view has been blocked by the new Aquarium and Fisheries Ministry but still a quiet pleasant base for a few days. We swam in the sea, warmer than the English Channel(just) and walked to supper although most people use their cars. Swakopmund is a great break from desert and bush. Great sea food at Oceans Basket. Pleasant family food at de Kelder or slightly more upmarket at The Grapevine. All fine but not haute cuisine. A morning with Christopher Nel at Living Desert Adventures is a must as is a boat trip from Walvis Bay with Pelican tours.
