The hotel is located in a historic building and you can find some good pictures about the old days. The rooms have been renovated and they are modern, well decorated, and with LCD screens. Bathrooms are also modern and clean.

Staff was very helpful and an early check-in was possible.The breakfast buffet was very good. It even included fresh oysters.

All main attractions are within walking distance.

The hotel is in the old station which gives a real sense of history to the place. Theres lots of old photos and info on the history of the building which is a nice touch. Sadly our room wasn't available even after 2pm and we had to wait ~ 45mins.

Room was really well decorated and clean room with a lovely view over the central courtyard. It was freezing when we arrived so the heating was welcome! Bathroom was large and clean if a little dated. There was a pool in the courtyard but it was way too cold to give it a try !!!

Its a 5 - 10 min walk to the seafront and about 5 mins from the central shopping area so ideally situated.

Breakfast was served in 'platform 1' and it was a buffet style affair food was fine. Didn't eat in the hotel in the evenings.

Had a very confortable and quiets night sleep.

Looking around there seemed to be quite a selection of smaller guest houses and boutique style hotels so I guess this was top end for the town. So I would probably recommend looking around before settling on this option - its not bad but ....

It is always nice to stay in historical places. We had a nice room, good comfort and the restaurant servers a very good buffet. The bathroom could do with some renovation, on which they are currently working, however it was clean and the service is excellent.

The building was beautiful and in a great location in the town. The rooms and food were fine for a quick stay and had everything required but little character. We stayed in an upgraded room however as they are doing this in stages it is very dusty in the coridors around the renovations. Safe place to stay if you have minimum requirements.
