After spending over a week travelling around Morocco, my boyfriend and I wanted to end our holiday staying somewhere with a bit more luxury where could chill out by a pool.
We had read various reviews on Trip Advisor and were therefore expecting this to be a nice hotel, but on arrival we were taken aback by the friendliness of the staff who seemed to know exactly who we were even before we told them our names! Also we were completely unprepared for the sheer luxury of the hotel, there were lots of nice touches (such as a plate of delicious petit fours to welcome us when we arrived), which made our stay extra special. We stayed in the Geisha room which was beautifully decorated and furnished, I've never stayed in such a gorgeous room before. It had a terrace and I'd really recommend checking that your room has a terrace before booking!
The breakfast at the hotel was second to none - unfortunately there was just too much choice and I couldn't resist! The omelettes that they made to order were delicious.
We were also treated to a complimentary hammam which they have onsite - so relaxing! I'm not sure if this was given to us for free because of the number of nights we stayed, but I would definitely recommend it to anyone in need of a bit of relaxation!
In terms of location, this hotel is perfectly placed around 5 mins walk from the Medina. There are lots of great restaurants in Essaouira and it's such a pretty town! Meals in the hotel are pretty expensive so I'd recommend eating out (try a restaurant called Laayoune which is great value and delicious!). The beach is very windy as everyone says, but the hotel pool is pretty sheltered, so it's ideal. Also the pool is heated, great for people like me who struggle to swim in cold water! If you want to stay in the shade, there are plenty of little spots in the hotel's gardens where you can comfortably chill out without getting sunburned!
I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is staying in Essaouira and who wants a bit of luxury! I hope to go back there again myself one day!
