We visited this hotel for the 2nd time from 26 Dec - 2 Jan and enjoyed the stay very much.
The hotel has not changed a lot in the 4 years between our current visit and our previous visit and we enjoyed the casual atmosphere there. No need to dress up for any of the meals.
Food was good and the variaty was such that all 4 of us had more than enough. Most evenings there was a theme to the supper.
New Years Eve, although the rain started the same time as the show, were fabulous. We had seafood and the fireworks were spectacular. They really went all the way out to make the evening special.
On my birthday, my husband booked the set menu and although we could not eat on the beach, due to the weather, the food was fantastic. We had a 5 course meal, including crayfish and then at the end they brought me a cake while the band sang to me happy birthday.
We travelled with a 2 week old baby and all the staff were very helpful with her. A lot of people told us not to travel with such a small infant, but we were just very careful with the water and sterilised everything.
The only problem that I have with the hotel and I think this is at all the hotels is that their drinks are very expensive and overinflated, especially if you translate it with ZAR Rand and the prices that you pay across the street and at the supermarkets for beer and colddrinks (Hotel Rs 120 - Shop Rs 25).
We booked a trip with Bradley, on the beach, to swim with the dolphins and it also included snorkling. The costs were about 50% less than booking through the travel agent representative.
Also think about hiring a car with a driver for the day to visit the South Western part of the island. It is definitely a must see - they are knowledgeable about what to see.
