Stayed at the resort for the second year running to celebrate our wedding aniversary in September. Before I start I will get the bad things out of the way, 11 hours in a plane from the uk is not good, and the prices of the drinks are horrendous, however it is 5 star and other places round the world are just as expensive.
When we arrived we were met with the words ,'welcome home' it is that sort of place. Check in is done with a cocktail whilst looking out over the beach and the indian ocean. The room is very large with all amenities, and the balcony is so large , it had a three piece suite and a few tables in it, Within a hour of arriving, a bottle of wine and canapes were delivered to the room. The room was spotless, and it became a competition between Ashesh our cleaner and Sunny the turn down man(he was our cleaner last year), to see who could make the prettiest patterns on the bed and in the bath from flowers, we even had an invite to ashesh son's birthday party.
The very big beach was a mere 10 yard walk from the balcony, and it was big enough to not get crowded, there were lots of water bourne activities on the beach for the actives ones, and lots of nice walks on the beach
Food, there are I think 7 different food areas, two on the beach,la kaze and the indigo, the main breakfast/dinner room Citronelle, two in the golf clubs swing and the deer hunter (i think it was called) , blue penny very fine dining and last but not least, the Spiaggia nearly fine dining, not to forget the bar(sometimes they have happy hour so look out for it). The food is wonderful,we ate about half the time in the la citronelle and half in the deer hunter at the golf club, Food is very varied, great quality, caters for all tastes, whatever your choice. The deer hunter is not large so you must book. We were invited one night to dine at the spiaggia to celebrate our aniversary, very nice it was. We found a happy medium in that most days my wife enjoyed the beach, and I played golf at the legends course, a mere few hundred yards stroll from the hotel. nice course and the staff very helpful and knowledable, only cost to play was for a buggy or caddy which I used a buggy part of the time and used a caddy part of the time, and then we used the spa facilities most days.Belle mare village 15 minutes cycle ride(hired bikes) wonderful public beach at belle mare, good place to top up with bottled water and drinks, halfway back there a nice restaurant and bar for a rest forget the name.
The sevice from the staff was exceptional and we got friendly and spent a lot of time chatting to them, there were so many nice staff, Thank you Ashesh,Sunny,Kevina Permal ,Sweetie,Ramila, and last but not least, chef Mike Payenmootoo who took time out to show me round his kitchen in the golf club and its inner workings .
In conclusion, one of the nicest , friendlist places we have ever been to, and we may even celebrate our aniversary there again this year.
Any questions on the above, please feel free to personal message me because I have no doubt I have forgoten to say something about the resort
