“If you want to relax and forget the world this is the palce to be!!!”

We planed for this trip for a long time. We wanted Maldives to be special and an amazing memory and this resort made it happen. The island is very small. You can cover the whole island in 10 mins. But the rooms are stunning and the view is mindblowing. We had few things on our check list - Water Bunglow - Plunge Pool - Glass to see the fishes under the bunglow - Jacuzzi... And privacy. To sleep under the stars and enjoy the moment.
We got it all here. We did not want to do any activities so we did not check any of that. We did snorkelling (kit is provided for free) and had few spa sessions. It was very relaxing. The food was of good taste and had good variety. For all 5 days and nights we had different dish and all were very tasty. It was an amazing experience. I can go on and on about the experience.

Room Tip: Sunset facing rooms have an uninterrupted view of the ocean. You can enjoy the sunset sitting in you...

“A Lovely Island with Customer Service Much to be Desired”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

Pros: It is a tiny lovely island surrounded by crystal clear sea water and colorful (although somewhat bleached) reefs. We could walk through the island in just about 15 minutes. All accomendations are water bungalows where the Indian Ocean is right beneath our feet. We could see the seawater through a glass in our bathroom. It is a place where we could do nothing but sit back and relax. The sunset there is fantastic. Just a few steps under the terrace of the bungalow lies the colorful reef of blue lagoon where we spent a whole day swim and snorkle with innumerable colorful tropical reef fish. (It turned out to be not very wise. I suffered from pretty bad sun burn cause by the equator UV. It hurts!!!) The breakfast is complimentary and we could order as much as we could. It ends at 10:00 AM. Any food after that will cost dollars. 99% of the staff are very friendly, polite and helpful. 2 bottles of fresh water were delivered to the room free of charge. A bottle of complimentary sparkling wine was also provided as a welcome drink. We enjoyed the wine at the first night of our arrival while sitting in the jacuzee at the back of our bungalow and gazed at billions of stars that fill the tropical night sky. The resort organizes BBQ party on the beach on every Saturday.

Cons: The service does NOT up to the five star standard. The food here is expensive. The menu rarely change. We had the same breakfast every morning throughout our entire stay, although it dosen't taste too bad. We didn't have too much choice for our dinner either. But we come here for relaxation and tropical sunshine, not for food. So it's ok for us. The most unpleasant experience we had was the bad attitude carried by a few waiters in the restaurant. (The majority of them are quite friendly though.) They tried to sell us the BBQ party which cost 100 USD per person and we refused it. Then they become a little bit rude and impatient to us. We didn't find our butler too useful except when he tried to sell us the excursions and activities, which are expensive and the choices are limited too. It gives us a feeling that some staff here have a revenue mission they struggle to accomplish. Other than that, these are passionate and friendly island people always with big smiles on their face.

Summery: It is a place for good relaxation with good value for money. But it is not a place for 5-star hotel service. So if you are looking for a service that makes you feel like a king, this is NOT a place for you. But if you want to enjoy the blue sky, crystal clear seawater, beautiful sunset, colorful reef fish and fantastic star gazing, do come here! You won't be disappointed.

Afterall it all depends on what you want.

Room Tip: If you wish to watch the sunset on your terrace, try book a bungalow facing south.

“Unbelievable!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

After being in ten different resorts in the Maldives, even wanting to, we immediately see differences between this and the others and this is certainly the only one in which we'll not return.
We got there in early December and the first thing we noted was the horrible Christmas decorations, as they were made and the really exaggerated quantity.
Polystyrene Santas not well arranged, Xmas trees made with lights and old broomsticks all around the island and linked each other with electric wires lying on the beach.
Other lights positioned in the middle of the lagoon like leaping dolphins, defaced during the day the see view with his horrible metallic frame.
All this accompanied by a host of other decorations hanging everywhere they can do it, even the doors of the rooms. A very disappointing start. Everything in the Maldives!?! In a hotel that claims to be a four star, we could not believe it.
The room was very nice and huge, but the two beautiful white sofas were dirty, surely these cushions cover sofas were not changed from a long time in contrast with the daily change of sheets. An outdoor hot tub in the bathroom very nice and big, but the first time that we turned on do not tell you what came out from the vents.
Each day a sort of "butler", as they call him, bring chocolates and ask if everything is okay. And I wonder why I need to show you the dirty sofa? If he was really a butler he will see that the cover sofa is to change and you'd do it without delay.
If they think this is enough to pull up the price will not go very far.
Basically this "butler" takes the place of the reception desk, booking the various services like in-room dining, tours and spa.
There is not WI-FI, Internet is by cable, usable only on the table inside the room.
I repeat that, knowing other ten resorts and seeing prices, there must be Wi-Fi in the room.
Another sore point is coming from the bar and restaurant. In fact, one thing that we like to do in the Maldives is to get a drink at sunset or dine out as much as possible near water or certainly the natural breeze and the sound of the sea. Not here, both pool bar and restaurant have a closed room, even with windows all around, but with air conditioning and only a few tables outside. WHAT'S ???????? We were really shocked by it all. The air conditioning? Are we in New York? I understand in the room, but the restaurant in the Maldives do not conceive it !!!!!!!!!!!
And of course the other bars, also very nice, completely outside was closed no one knows why.
On the beach on the west side walls are very ugly.
The small "little bar" open from dusk onwards on the beach on the opposite side of the rooms was not attended by any guest due to very hight music held by the staff and attended only by them.
During the whole week there were workers who did maintenance work on the dock of the rooms and stairs leading to constant noise throughout the day.
The restaurant building has three floors and the two upper floors are the spa and a Japanese restaurant. This is also an unusual place where to built spa and restaurants in the Maldives, because are both close to the sea and in the middle of the darkness of the vegetation.
In addition to the normal one there are also four overwater honeymoon villa equal in all respects to other overwater, except the price, of course, simply move than the other but in our opinion there was nothing more and this has proved the fact that they were always empty. So we wondered, why they don't use this place like spa?? Rather than in that dim place and not in accordance with? Should be clear!
Neither cheaper resorts would do it!
All this makes me think of a really failing management almost non-existen and who has never seen the behavior of the competitors.
There were only few rooms occupied and we can imagine why, but I wonder if they know why. Is not about the crisis, because other more expensive resorts in the same period were fully booked.
So it seemed appropriate to inform them of what we thought and talked with the manager. The person that every afternoon, during our walk on the beach, we met while playing with his son and we did not know who he was.
He told us, offering a drink and a dinner of lobster on the beach, that he was sorry we booked during the week of maintenance works, that our opinion was very important for them to be able to improve.
However it was not his fault because he was there only a few days, but certainly those who run the place before him.
We come now to the positive things and not unimportant. The quality of the restaurant food was excellent. Breakfast is served and you can choose what you prefer from a varied menu of both sweet and savory.
The staff tries to do his best and is very courteous.
For two who are not diving but only snorkeling the west part of the island is very nice with plenty of vegetation and different fishes, we also spotted turtles.
Unlike others who have complained of excessive noise caused by passing boats in the channel, did not seem to us excessive, especially if you sleep in the sunset side rooms. Perhaps they have never been on islands where seaplanes land directly, this is noising!

Beware, in a good way, by those who have reviewed this hotel or any other hotel in the Maldives as the best, because the place itself is fantastic, magical and a true haven to rest, relax and discover the wonderful marine flora and fauna independently the hotel where you go, the first time you get here will always remain in your hearts.

“A Perfect Honeymoon!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

On August 20th, My wife and I arrived at 'Adaaran Prestige Vadoo' for our honeymoon and was amazed to what was awaiting us!
We were greeted with warm smiles from our personal butler and hotel staff, we were given a tour of the Hotel and escorted to our luxury water bungalows (which by the way is probably one of the best i've been to).
Throughtout our stay the staff were very curtieous, friendly and always willing to help us ensuring our stay was a memorable one.
The Food was just amazing and the Chef even offered to arrange a meal that wasn't even on the menu should we wished so.
The Spa is a MUST VISIT! It'll help you wind down and give you the peace of mind to absorb all the luxury and pampering you will receive.
The beach is perfect, moderate waves to give that excitement of getting into the sea and the corals with its sea life is something you don't want to miss, while i was at that my Wife was enjoying a swim surrounded by friendly baby sharks while at a distant we could see dolphins at their best!
I must say the Island Hotel isn't that big but it has everything to offer (including various excursions). With limited number of water bungalows only, and being at 100% occupancy we always had our privacy no mater whether we were at the beach, bar, restaurant, spa and pool.
Every evening from the bar terrace that overlooked the sea, subject to availability of food, the staff feed the fish and we got some great pics of sting rays, sharks and many more.
Finally the General Manager greeted us during our final evening who offered us some traditional Maldivian food which we loved. A very enthusiastic and friendly person who thrives on customer satisfaction and credit to him in running such a wonderful place.
All in all, a perfect hide away to indulge oneself in luxury and tranquility
My Wife and I would recommend this to any couple seeking a romantic time, hoping to visit again soon ourselves.

Happy Holidays!!

Regards
Mark

“Brilliant Christmas Holiday!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012
5

We were there with my partner for 7 nights for our Christmas 2011 vacation. Before going I was a bit concerned over two things. Firstly, the hotel was substantially cheaper than other 5 star Maldivian resorts as well as the fact that the island is small and thus there was always the fear of getting bored. All of my fears went away the moment I arrived.

The hotel sits on a fantastic little island 30-40 mins away from Male, which to be perfectly honest after an 11 hour flight from London and a 1,5 hour immigration queue, I wasn't really keen on catching another flight to any of the remote Maldivian resorts. Upon arrival you are assigned a butler that takes care of all your needs/requests while there. All of the rooms are exactly the same with the exception of some Japanese themed ones. Thus, they all have lovely comfortable beds, nice sized spaces, a lovely plunge pool in the front and a jacuzzi in the back. There is satellite TV with limited channels, however no WiFi (one of the few faults I can think of). A small ladder from our front deck gave us access to the ocean. The toiletries were also quite nice even though I am not quite sure what brand they were.

The staff were all fantastic! Our butler (Reji) made sure our stay was exceptional. I really believe that the reason we had such a great holiday was because of him. One day when we had an early excursion planned, he called our room to wake us up (we had forgot) and he had breakfast ready and waiting for us on our front deck within 20 mins! He remembered what we liked for breakfast and lunch each day! The rest of the staff were equally gracious and friendly.

The hotel had several daytime and evening events so I never really felt bored (even though I didn't participate in many). Since we were there over Christmas there was a special Christmas dinner and a special Christmas breakfast which added a nice touch to the vacation. There were fish feeding almost every other night and thus got to see a few sharks, rays and jackfish which was quite fascinating. From the activities provided I would avoid the submarine trip (which I thought was a waste of money). The trip to Male was also something that I wouldn't do again but I am glad that I got to see what was out there (albeit not much).

There are two restaurants on the resort. One that has an assortment of Asian and Western dishes and one Japanese one. Both are equally good. The prices were not as bad as I thought. A dinner for two with a bottle of wine was about 130-160$. Drinks prices were also not as bad as I thought they would be (around 10$ for a coctail). The coctails were great.

There is also a spa (that I didn't use thus I can't review) and a gym (which also I didn't use even though I packed my gym clothes).

There is also a nice pool and a sun lounges on a stretch of beach. Even though I am not big on snorkeling the hotel provided us with the proper equipment free of charge and I got to see some amazing underwater life. As I said, I did prefer casually swimming however and lounging by the sea.

Last but not least I should say that I was a bit concerned about us being a gay couple, how we would be perceived or treated. I have to say that it wasn't even an issue and there wasn't an eyebrow raised. One night in particular our butler filled the hot tub for us, placed some sparkling wine on the ice and had a beautiful flower arrangement over our bed and all over the bathroom/hot tub for us! I was quite positively surprised actually by the whole thing!

Overall, it was a great experience for a fraction of the price for what other hotels charge for the same type of room. It was a nice luxurious holiday without being over bearing. I would definately visit again!
