This is mostly a french speaking resort so if you don't know a word of it, you probably want to find another place. Otherwise the place is great. On the cheap side compared to the rest of the maldives, but also doesn't offer much of the luxuries that other resorts probably do.
What is truly luxurious here is the fact that the island is really small so outside of the peak season you have the beach virtually for yourself. There are only 50 or so bungalows, and that is really pleasant. It feels like your own private island.
Food is good but wine is pathetic, drinkable water on tap is clearly a plus, the bar is nicely stocked just in case it rains, and the scuba diving team is great. Anytime water-sports and snorkeling included so that also is a nice thing - you don't get hammered by the cost all your activities at the end of the stay... The staff is also really friendly.
On the negative side... the pool table at the bar was a shame, clearly lacks some investments, as does some of the other equipment for water sports. And if you want that mojito on the beach you just gotta fetch it yourself at the bar. But once you're back in your sunbed, the beach is only yours...
Oh and if you land in Male at night, you will have to wait until the morning to reach the resort because they cannot take arrivals at night. They will suggest that you stay at Kandooma while waiting but I would not recommend that because you would simply not enjoy it. Better save your money and stay in Male for a night.
All in all a great place to relax and enjoy lazyness, away from it all - no shoes no news as they say
