“Good for chilling out”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 December 2011

Lovely simple place for chilling out. Nice pool. Excellent food in restaurant. Beach not suitable for swimming - all rubbish became visible once tide out. Avoid the massage lady - more like joint manipulation and knuckling than a massage - most painful massage I have ever had! Sit by the pool a d relax for 24hours is perfect though. Free wifi.

Room Tip: Above the reception has great views

“Excellent retreat outside Kota Kinabalu”

We had a lovely room, Sunflower I think, nice and big, but no view sadly. Spotlessly clean. There is a lovely pool with beer on hand from the restaurant. The food was excellent at night - really fresh and the beer and wine comparatively cheap - everywhere is on a par for UK prices for beer.

Staff were very helpful, big taxi into town can be arranged for bigger groups. Night market in KK is well worth a visit and so cheap it makes up for the taxi price.

“Realaxing and very friendly. Great start to our holday”

We stayed with our two offsprinig aged 16 & 23 for four nights at the start of our 17 day holiday. The place was clean, staff very helpful, rooms simple but clean with air conditioning. The taxi to KK was a 20 min trip costing £10 or a bus outside for very little. The pool was small but hardly anyone in it and the food in the restaurant was good. The sunsets over the sea were amazing!
At the end we stayed at Pacific Sutera for one night at decided that we would have preferred to be at Seaside Travellers Inn.

“A bit of tranquility after stay in busy KK”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 June 2011

This is a great place to stay if you just want to unwind and chill by the seaside for a day or two after all the busy sightseeing and shopping in KK. The price is right for the accommodation we got (a chalet with aircond and ensuite bathroom); it's generally clean and drinking water is free, as is the wi-fi (in the reception area). While we didn't have a seaview room, we could at least hear the soothing sound of the waves crashing against the beach. However, don't bother going to the beach or swimming in the sea as it's littered with rubbish (which you can see during low tide, but not during high tide). There's a small swimming pool for you to enjoy, and it's well maintained. Our only grouse is that the food quality could be improved on; truly not worth the amount we paid unless you like very oily food! Apart from that, we've always have a good time at Seaside (this was our third time) and will certainly stay there again.

“Lovely place to spend a few days in the sun”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 June 2011

After travelling for a while, and doing a lot of diving, I wanted a few days of pure beach time to get a tan before going home. This was the perfect place. The hotel is quiet, with a reasonable swimming pool, and just on the beach. The beach isn't stunning, but it is sandy and quiet, and fine to spend a few days on. The sunsets are also incredible.

The food was reasonable, rooms were quiet, and generally I thought it was a good place to get a bit of R&R. The only downside is that it is in the middle of no where, you are about 45 mins from KK. A taxi is not that cheap (though you can get a local bus). Also I was a bit miffed that when I booked it I was told I would get a free transfer to the airport, but when I came to book the transfer they refused to include that as free.
