Eventhough it's situated at the edge of city centre but the hotel gives the most comfortable room in KK. The price range is very affordable and meet the quality of all the services a hotel should provide. A nice and comfy bed attached with a clean bath tub. The cafe provide a wide range of food at affordable price.

The hotel is actually on par for a 3 stars range. However, unfortunately the first time having noisy & annoying teenage neighbours going in & out of the room, ringing bell, knocking door, banging door & speak & laugh out loud few times a night is a minus for the environment.

We visited the Hotel Shangri-la during June 2011 as part of a two week holiday. We did not actually book this hotel as it just came as part of an eco-tours safari package. The first thing I must add is that you must not confuse this hotel with the 5 star Shangri-la chain as this hotel just bears the same name. Our experiences of the hotel were as follows:

The hotel was clean enough

Negatives
A VERY budget hotel – There were far better hotels available in the local area
The room was facing a huge heating vent that droned loudly all day and night
The room stunk of cigarette smoke
The hotel was full of young budget travellers
The breakfast was poor and the thought of fish porridge still makes me feel ill
The hotel is in a bad location on a main road that takes a good while to cross
The lift was extremely slow and always full
The reception staffs were unfriendly and uninterested

To conclude don’t stay here unless your budget won’t allow an alternative – the cleanliness is the only thing preventing me from giving it a one out of five rating

Room was clean and the facailities in good condition. About a 5 min walk to the large Centre Point shopping centre. Breakfast was ok with enough to choose from to please everyones tastes.
