“An enjoyable trip”

Took my partner to a resort for the first time here. The check in staff were friendly and efficient. Resort amenities were basic but adequate. We whiled away our time by the pool, pool bar or the beach. The remoteness of this resort made it a welcome retreat, but a bit boring at night. I think that it would be good for a group of people as it is easier to create your own fun in the bar once its dark. We utilised the free wifi in all the restaurants to keep up to date with our iphones. Lobby Wifi often did not work due to too many people. However, just down the hall a little you could access the chinese restauarants.
The meals at the resort were nice. Cakes were delicious at the cake shop, had one every day.... Our meal at the chinese restaurant was great. Peking duck and the left over duck cooked with salts and spices, was some of the best I have had.

Would recommend this hotel to others going to the area to relax. Had a huge beach frontage with no one on it. Rooms can feel a little remote. Staff are always smiling.

“One Of The Greatest Hotels, I Have Stayed In!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

This is one of the biggest and greatest hotels, I have stayed in. This hotel does take a big area. It has the main building (or the main hotel), followed by villas and sea attractions park, as you drive down the road. This time I have stayed in the villas area. Even though the area is made for villas, it has few tall buildings (with rooms you can stay in) that surround a swimming pool with a bar. In one of the buildings there is a reception, a main bus stop (but you can always ask a driver to drop you at your villa) and an attraction room, where you can play board games, paint boutique and many other things to do. The beach, well I wouldn't call it a normal beach because it has no umbrellas or lounges on it but the swimming pool is very close to it and you can always use the lounges that are around it. Usually they are empty because only few people come to this villa area. Most of the people stay in the main hotel which has more things to do. For example: library (which has varieties of books in different languages), games area, sea attractions (a bit less choice than in the sea attraction park) and many more. I will recommend the villa area for people who prefer silence or life in your own house (with a swimming pool) near the sea.

“Wonderful retreat”

We had a bad experience in Borneo after touring I picked up Typhoid. We dropped out of the programme and checked into this hotel. Wonderful place to stay for a quiet relaxing week. Has the most amazing steak restaraunt, quite expensive but well worth a visit or two.

“Did I say, HUGE???”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

Wow, this place is huge! there seem to be lots and lots of people, and yet still lots and lots of space. Waaaaayy out of town - 45 minute bus ride, so get everything you need before you venture out. On the shores of the South China Sea (great), and plenty to do besides wave surfing as they have a great pool and organised activities. Internet connection is terrible! Service is great at the main desk, and they know what they are talking about. 3 - 4 tour operators work from here too. Restaurants are fine, service is good, and food supply is generous. Unfortunately, like the rest of KK, lots of litter, and I had difficulty taking many nice photos because of this. We mentioned this in the review, so hopefully they will take note. It is a very quiet place, and the noisiest aspect is the ocean, but that is lovely to listen to at night anyways.

Room Tip: Get a room close to the main part of the resort unless you like to walk a loooong way to eat etc.

“1 bedroom SPA suite”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

I spent my wife's birthday on the 24/12 and Christmas on the 25/12 at the said bedroom. Suite is superbly nice and attractive. With jacuzzi bathtub and separate steam bath in the main bathroom. Accommodation wise is perfect.

But hotel service staff is poor. We need to wait for about 3 hours to get an additional pillow. Even I've pre-arranged with the hotel for my wife's birthday settings, still it coul don't be done and it never was done.

Plus 5 star hotel has no celebration at all for Christmas. Omg~~~ Christmas is extremely boring.

Restaurant is another issue. To queue for dinner, we spent about 2 hrs waiting in the line, with reasons restaurant is full. But the table are all on reserved sign and no one is there for the next hour. Stupid arrangements

Will not come back for any celebration but if u don really care the environment, u can try the suite.

Room Tip: Internet is not working at all.
