Accommodation is basic amd in a very poor state of repair.
Food was dreadful, low quality, and cold.
Beaches were untidy and a creek in the middle of the resort is smelly.
The reef has a lot of fish life and is interesting for snorkelling.
The mud volcanoes are a great experience.
Adequate for a one or two day stay only

There aren't many optionsaround KK if someone wishes to stay near a beach, Pulau Tiga is one of the few someone can go to. I was hoping to get a bit of island feeling close to KK but Pulau Tiga doesn't really provide it. The resort seems to be aging and the beach isn't very inviting at all. The food was quite tasty however, and the accommodation adequate. The staff were extremely friendly which is a major +++++
As a single traveller I wouldn't stay there again, just too boring. For a couple or family it might be a better choice.

Pulau Tiga is a unique entity on its own,when visit,do not expect to land yourself in a beautiful luxury island,come with a 'Survivor' mind,& i am sure you will enjoy your entire trip!

The mud volcano experience is truly amazing! Watch the Survivor 1st Season,challenge 12-The Reward Challenge,you'll see what i mean! Be part of it & you'll get a feel of how the contestants felt!

Foos was OK,but hey! I mentioned,come with a Survivor spirit,you'll love it!

If you wish to feel the snakes & snorkel around Sands Pit,stay for a night. Otherwise,a day trip is great!

Monitor lizzards are all around the island,they are OK,just do nor go near.

Tips: do not wear flip flops for mud trip.

We came here with low expectations because of the reviews, but because of limited time we decided to come here anyway being that its not too far from KK.
Our first impressions were that is was very dull and boring, the beach was grey and not too spacious, with a fair amount natural debris strewn across it.
However after the first day we started to get used to it, and found the place extremely relaxing with minimal bother from the staff, who were polite and friendly but not intrusive. The food was fine, but I wouldn't want to stay there for more than 3 days as everything would get a bit samey.
We enjoyed the walks in the jungle, and the mud volcano. Snake island was a bit of a rip off, and we felt a bit sorry for the poor snake getting dragged out from under her rock for a bit of prodding by our non local guide. We only saw one female and a few little males, I'm not surprised the other ones have gone if they had to put up with this on a daily basis! It's worth making a trip to the sand bank though as that is gorgeous.
We made the walks to the other side of the island and it seems that sea erosion is making those beaches quite a lot thinner and rougher than the side of the resort. The forest is quite plain though you do get to see some monkeys and monitor lizards. Oh speaking of monkeys they must have scared them a lot since some of these reviews as we never saw them in the resort area.
The highlight was the sea, which was absolutely crystal clear and on 2 of our 3 days completely flat and like a giant swimming pool, lovely!
Rooms were basic, but clean, bathroom not too nice, but adequate.
If you fancy a quiet trip to read a book and have a nice swim, early nights and peace and quiet, this is the place for you.
