“Don't stay there..badly maintained..”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012 via mobile

Stayed there for a nite with family, a 2 rooms apartment. The minute we checked in, we knew it was a mistake. The reception has no idea of a good service, the place was rundown and definitely needs a major renovation. The apartment that we have is dirty and full of giant ants. The breakfast and dinner at the coffeeshop is a big disappointment. Couple with the poor service and the long and winding trip up the hill( my son threw up on the way up and also on the way doiwn), don't think we ll be making another trip uo Fraser anytime soon. The only saving grace is the weather and perhaps the horse ride and archery which my sons enjoyed..

“Nice view, Affordable rates , need more maintenance”

I have stayed in this resort for CNY holiday weekend, let me go throught with you in details about the experience on my stay here.

BOOKING:
Made through phone, and email whereby i have made booking to Puncak Inn hotels, FYI, some apartment units of the Silverpark resort has been bought by puncak inn hotel, its a 2bedroom apartment on 5th floor cost me RM250. Payment has to be made in FULL to confirm the booking.

CHECK-IN:
was very simple, not crowded at all. Only took me 2mins, i just mentioned my name and all the forms were filled up already. and you will have to check in at Puncak Inn hotel (Near fraser clock) and NOT at Silverpark resort. Once u get your apartment keys, head up to the resort about 5mins drive.

ARRIVAL:
Upon arrival you will have to present your room number to the security guard to enter the apartment compound, which means non residence cannot enter simply. I was happy with the security provided. The outside of the place looks run-down, i belief its the cold weather & humid makes it looks like that.

THE ROOM:
Once opening the door i was surprised to see the apartment which is decent & pleasant! the living room as nice with comfy large sofas. Kitchen has a fridge & a induction cooker for cooking with cabinets, sinks & table for 4. The view from the balcony is just BREATHTAKING & AWESOME!

BEDROOM:
This apartment consist of 2 bedroom and 2 bathroom, master bedroom has a bathroom with tub, 1 queen side bed, bed side table, dressing table & Cupboard. Same goes to the other room minus bathtub.

LOCATION:
What i love the most is the view from this apartment, it is awesome. We even did our very own team boat on the balcony! Just that if you choose the higher floors, be ready to climb the stairs!

THE CONS:
1. The TV channel is limited, i do not mind about it after all im staying there to enjoy the nature & away from routine life.

2. The induction cooker wasn't working properly! Luckily we have our own portable cooker to cook dinner for us!

3. Lack of kitchen utensils! The was no spoon/fork/plates not even proper sponge & soap to wash plates after using them.

4. HOT water not working properly! At this cold weather and not having hot water is very unfortunate! Hot water only runs for a few minute and turns to cold water! this is sad!

5. NO hangers in the cupboard! Having a cupboard with no hangers is a just a waste! Hangers don't cost alot, hope the management can put some!

6. NO place to dry towels or clothes, the unit should have a small designated area/space for us to hang the towels & clothes!

7. NO Shampoo in the washroom! NO dustbin in the washroom.

This is an apartment unit managed by PUNCAK INN HOTELS, it is much better than the ones managed by silverpark itself. Overall stay was nice just that some lacking here & there.

If the management decides to fix all the above cons mentioned , i would be more than happy to stay here again!

Room Tip: Choose the Top Floor & Mountain views

“Siverpark has seen better days”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

We stayed in a two room apt. The apt space is generous, the views from the verandas, fabulous. And the chilly weather (16 to 22 C) was simply fabulous considering the heat of the plains. But sadly the condition of the room was pathetic - barely tolerable. Amazing what incompetent management can do to run down an originally superb hotel complex on a prime location. Still we managed to enjoy our 3 day stay - and the Bishop Trail trek was an experience to remember. And endless numbers of macaques (strangely they do not bother you), birds and creepy crawlies. Not to forget the amazing flora. Reasonable food selections available - but you have to hunt about to locate eg the Food Court, Scotts Restaurant (these are outside the Silverpark hotel)

Room Tip: A spacious kitchenette with refrigerator and kettle. A hot plate would have been nice to whip up som...

“Views v comfort”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

Oh dear, 'bad' reviews are always so final, and the whole business of ranking so subjective... If I only wanted a room with a great view then a top-floor spot in this apartment complex would have done nicely. Such a shame that the elements followed us right in. It wasn't Silverpark's fault that we booked during rainy season and the accommodation, space-wise, more than suited our small family group spanning three generations. Shame that the patio windows did not shut properly, allowing the fog to literally roll in and the wind to howl through at night. I would not have wanted to test out the dated and possibly inefficient kitchen - we used the kettle and fridge, which worked fine. The chilly and old-fashioned bathrooms were not welcoming, but again worked OK. One bathroom lock was broken but management fixed it fairly swiftly – though not permanently. The Internet was down for our entire stay, apparently due to a weather problem (yet worked fine in other places in town). And our daily noodle and sausage breakfast was limp and tasteless. But then, we weren't there for the internet, for enormous five-star breakfasts or for spending hours in the bathroom. On a plus point, birds flew beautifully close to our windows and the position high up above town made for a great vantage point when the clouds did clear. Book here if all you want is a good view. Otherwise, poor Silverpark, time to update...

“OK but lack of maintenance”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 January 2012

Rooms are large, but the whole resort is below maintenance standards... pity.
It is a great location so it is nice for people who don't care much are are not too petty with hotels standards.

Room Tip: Face downhill a must
