I spent 2 nights here at the begining of December with my Daughter. Its quite a distance from any beach but that may appeal to some. The accommodation comprises of Malay style dwellings in a lush jungle area. First impressions are that the whole site has seen better days. We remained optomistic however but when my daughter realised they had not told us the swimming pool was out of action it no longer felt so appealing.
The rooms are interesting shall we say. Some of the spare bed linen in the wardrobe was covered in droppings from some animal possibly rats or squirrels. The room was musty as one might expect but it left me waking up each morning with a wheeze.
We realised we needed to hire a car and this saved our holiday as there were no real amenities at the hotel. The hotel staff organised the car for around £13 per day and were on the whole quite helpful. The car saved our holiday and allowed us to completely explore this lovely island. We had an excellant time. As for the hotel we spent as little time there as possible. When we were leaving a tour bus arrived so I guess it must have some attraction probably the price which can be under £30 per night. I would say this resort primarily attracts locals as its no where near the standard that a pampered westerner would find acceptable. The standard of many of the cheaper hotels on the island is very poor so I would hasten to add that this is not amongst the worst. The view from the chalet window was stunning. Its an extremely tranquil spot. So mixed feelings about the experience but no I would not stay there again.
