Where to start?
- We booked airport pickup but ended up having to take a taxi into town.
- The first room they gave us was under construction. The A/C and most of the lights weren't working in the second room, (but it WAS a very big, airy, clean room). Called for maintenance 3 times. Nobody came. Called again; maintenance arrived almost an hour later, and then showed us that there is a console box on the night stand that controls everything in the room. (WHY, then, did someone at the front desk not tell us about this, I ask? You'd think after 3 or 4 phone calls, they would've at least ASKED if we'd tried the console . . . )
- Asked for extra pillows. Got them about 5 hours later.
- Kettle and coffee cups in the room, but the dirty cups were never replaced with clean ones.
- Had to hold the toilet button down the whole time it was flushing, or it DIDN'T!
- Shower was meant for 4'2" midgets, and sprayed water all over the entire bathroom.
- Waited for the elevator for FIFTEEN MINUTES in the morning, and we were not alone! By the time we finally got downstairs, they had cleared away EVERYthing in the breakfast buffet. They said breakfast was available until 10:00 and it was JUST THEN 10:00, so they had to have started clearing up around 9:30. They told us the buffet was closed, but by this time I (and a few others who had been waiting for the elevator) was so angry, that I slammed our breakfast vouchers down on the counter, and demanded something to eat. The cook at the egg counter was still working and he quite willingly fried us up some eggs. Then we asked for toast. They brought us cold bread. TOAST, I repeated. Then we asked for it again, and again, and again . . . Same thing with juice. We eventually got the toast, but never did see juice. People at other tables were also angry and complaining about the service.
- When I went to actually register a complaint at the front desk, the guy just looked at me like he didn't even understand what I was saying!
- The jacuzzi was not working the first day we were there. It was on the second day, but not hot and only one jet was working.
- I specifically went to the concierge the night before we were due to leave, to order a taxi for 6:30 a.m. "No problem," they said. They would have a taxi for us. They wrote it down, I SAW them! Next morning, no taxi. They tried to call a taxi. They tried to call another taxi company. And another. Finally, at about 6:45, a taxi arrived. But one of the 'luxury' ones, that charges DOUBLE what the normal taxis charge. NOT happy.
- The published regular room rate on Agoda was $145 USD per night, but they had discounted rates on (which it appears many people fell for), but there is no way on the face of this earth, that the place was work $145 USD. If I'd actually paid full rate, I would have been FURIOUS!
