Its a pretty old hotel. I first thought it was affliated to Pan Pacific due to the similar name. The sanitary fittings are branded but very worn out. Everything from towels to doors are very old. However overall, the room is considered clean given that its so old. I appreciate the big window.

Location wise its great. It comes with parking space and its near to JB sentral. Don't walk back to the hotel, especially at night. Always take a cab and fares are cheap.

The staffs are pretty efficient and friendly and will call for a cab for you. Note that the cab charge additional RM 2 for booking fee.

I had stayed here before way back in 2007 and it was quite a nice place. So when I wanted to house a big travelling party, it made sense to book in at the Puteri.

As I am no blind mouse, I agree with the immediate past reviews, that the hotel deserves and up-grade, especially that its monthly turnover should easily exceed RM1.0 million (desk top calculation).

Complaints:
1. The room walls are so thin, you could hear next room.
2. Room 1128, the shower door was left to break down with water from the shower could spill out to the vanity area.
3. It has a baby grand but two nights I was there, there was no band present at the Lounge. C'mon, even a 2 duo would not be as bad.

5. Overcrowding Newsroom Cafe.

Pluses:
1. Good value, for a port just next to Singapore.
2. In the city, so, in the scheme of things, you should not get lost.
3. Staff - friendly enough with concierge very helpful.
4. Swimming pool is child friendly.

We stayed there 3 nights, and we have no other complaints. Will try Thistle next!

We were going to Singapore for a 5-day Christmas holiday and wanted to have a stop-over at Johor Baharu for one night so that it is easy for us to visit my mom the next morning who lives just across the causeway.

We choose Puteri Pacific JB because of its location in town, but at a quite corner. As it ws drizzling and the 6:00 pm rush-hour, we had some trouble finding Puteri Pacific JB's main entrance althought we had our trusty GPS with us. We went round the block twice before we saw the tiny signboard indicating the entrance to hotel.

Checking in was easy and quick. We were given a room with a 1 king-size and 1 single bed on a non-smoking floor on level 9. The room was spacious and clean. Our luggage was very quickly delivered to our room and the porter was very helpful by giving us some options on where we can have fresh sea-food when we ask him about it.

The bed was comfy and TV channels was okay. Items in the mini-bar is free, not many items inside. 2 cans of soft-drinks & a small packet of cookies. Free internet in the room.

Bathroom was big and equipt with the normal shampoo/conditioner/shower gel amenities. The only problem we had were the towels, 2 hand towels & 2 bath towels. We called housekeeping to send up more bath towels but none came.

Breakfast was simple & not many selection.

Check-out was quick and by 11:00 am, we were happily on our way to Singapore :)

Booked this hotel thru Asiarooms.com. Called prior to check booking and it was confirmed available. Went there with 9 other family members. Checking-in was ok - no problem. Booked for 3 rooms and only 1 room was available upon check-in because we arrived quite early. After about 20 mins, managed to settle in all 3 rooms and 1 of the rooms was upgraded. Rooms was clean and comfortable with all the room facilities such as: attached spaceous bathroom/tub, safe deposit box,IDD tel lines, coffee/tea making facility, hair dryer, TV, electronic key card system... and friendly staffs.
My family enjoyed the stay - all of them. Near to City Square shopping centre and many eating places. Been to this hotel many times and its my its our first choice hotel whenever we intend to stay in JB.
