Accepting that this is only a 3 star hotel it certainly punches well above its weight.
The staff are very attentive and supportive of new visitors to the area.
The superior room has a spacious veranda and grassy sun deck with 180 degree lake views.
The deluxe rooms look more than adequate and good value.

Spent a weekend here with a family from Lilongwe. Of course, the hotel is nothing like you would find in the US or Europe, but it had a spectacular location which made up for that!

Our room had two twin beds with air conditioning, a private bath, and mosquito nets. The hotel had two great restaurants with excellent food. There was a swimming pool available and a number of different activities on the lake for a reasonable price (snorkeling, scuba, boat tour, etc).

I will definitely stay here again the next time I am in Malawi!

Spent a very restful weekend on Lake Malawi in October. My hosts brought me to this "resort" location. The location couldn't have been more perfect, right on the bay with clean beaches and a great view of the small island off the coast. It was a bit breezy and the lake waves resembled the ocean but the weather was great as was the ambiance. The resort has it good and bad. The small huts located on the southern part of the resort are charming, clean, and very private. Lots of room for two with a separate and large closet and bathroom. Only a shower so if you need a tub, this wont do. A small private patio surrounded by immaculate grounds made me feel very comfortable there. The staff are very polite and helpful. The indoor, upstairs restaurant needs some work and the birds who join you and the buffet for breakfast need to go. The outdoor restaurant serves good food and drinks. It is a quiet place except for the many former western military mercenaries that stay there brokering their trade. The beaches are great and guarded all day,however my Blackberry turned up missing from my table on the beach.

This property was recommended by World Vision as we visited a sponsor child in Malawi.
The location is perfect, right on the lake, the restaurant staff were very nice however..... DO NOT put your valuables in the hotel safe in the office. The hotel duty manager is apparently the only person with the key and when we checked our money we found $520US had been stolen from the bag. When we approached the Manager they said how do we know you even had money in your bag.
The room may say put your valuables in our office safe to ensure they are protected however there is a thief that works in the office and you would be better placed to keep your money on your person at all times. DO NOT TRUST THE MANAGEMENT OF THIS HOTEL.
