“PLEASANT SURPRISE”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 November 2011

First time in Lebanon, flew to Beirut - told to take "Flack Jacket". Not true, the war ended 20 years ago. Beautifull country. Cosmopolitan - very friendly. Went there for a wedding at Byblos Sur Mer. Just like France. October still 28 degrees. Sea still warm enough to swim. Stayed at the Edde Sands Resort - right on the beach - five swimming pools - 5 plus stars at 3 stars price (compared with South of France). Beautifull room, own private patio. Slight problem is that out of season all the resort restaurents are not open, but Byblos just down the road has many. Byblos - one of the oldest places in Christendom. Really nice. Beirut - getting back to what it was like before the war. Still some way to go - but could well be once again the Monte Carlo/Cannes of the Eastern Med. Pity about the flight costs - but when they come down then the Lebanon is most defintely a place to to see and visit.

“Great weekend get-away”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 November 2011

We took advantage of a long holiday weekend and headed for lebanon. We're not much into the late night partying and wanted more of a low-key weekend which is why we chose Byblos over Beirut. We picked Edde Sands because it seemed like a good deal and I talked with some Lebanese colleagues who said it was nice.
We stayed in the e l'hotel. I wouldn't say that the hotel itself was anything special, but it was clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Just a 5-10 minute walk to Byblos and you have access to the resorts facilities. We paid a little extra for a sea-view room which i would say is a MUST. It's what made the hotel so wonderful..watching the sunrises and sunsets and the big storms roll in (we went in November).
Also, the breakfast is AMAZING. The oriental/continental breakfast that is included is lovely--we ate down at the resort the first two mornings before we realized that we could have the complimentary breakfast served on our balcony which was quite a treat.
Overall a great place to just get away and relax a bit--I would definitely stay there again and will recommend it to friends.

Room Tip: Get a sea view room...definitely worth it!

“Spa and wellness in Edde Sands”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 October 2011

This resort is one of a kind and certainly in Lebanon.
I have been here a couple of times, enjoying the experience particular in the Wellness and Spa.
The wellness menu is very elaborate and you can choose from a wide variety of treatments.
As a huge fan of the Ayurvedic way of treatment I was very pleasantly surprised that they have an Ayurvedic docor on site and offer Ayurvedic treatments! I booked an Ayurvedic treatment and it was fantastic. The atmosphere is calm and quiet, the ladies of the spa are kind and knowledgeable. I would recommend anyone to have a look at the Edde Sands website and their wellness menu. You will not be disappointed.

“nice,clean and big resort”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2011

it is a nice, clean, and big resort, has many swimming pools, and a big sandy beach, and nice fancy cabanas over the beach, in addition to some bungalows ,,,it has a very nice VIP pool with cabanas, but unfortunately , u have to pay around extra 25 or 50 dollars to get an access to VIP area, even though you are a guest at the e hotel,,,,and they have a lebanese restaurant that lies right on the beach , which serves very tasty lebanese oriental food and hooka ,,,u'll definitely like it,,,and they have banqueting rooms ,,so that lots of glamorous ,nice wedding takes place there ,,,,,,,,the view is charming ,,, so that u can see closely the remnant of the old byblos city, and the surrounding green mountains,,,,the resort has many private sections and other Jacuzzi s and spa ,,,,,and it includes other oriental restaurant that offers you eastern nitelife style parties........ the resort has a hotel, called the e hotel, which is actually a building away from the beach NOT inside the resort, it is about only 2 minutes driving from the beach resort and has a sea view, so that the hotel offers you a free shuttle bus that carries you to the beach. the e hotel is small, it is only around 40 rooms only, it is very clean and comfortable, but the regular rooms are petite and simple and shouldn't be classified as 5 stars,, i would give it only 3 stars,,,,,,,,,and lots of mosquitoes existed there at that time ,,but the hotel offers you VAPE i mean mosquito killing device to solve the issue,,, the staff in the e hotel are very friendly, helpful and well dressed,,,,,,they offer u a breakfast ,,,either u take it on the beach or in the last floor inside the hotel building overlooking the mediterrianian sea ,,,which was really clean, nice and delicious with very good presentation,,,, and it takes u around 10 to 15 mins to walk to the old down town of byblos which was extremely fabulous.......so the e hotel offers you clean and comfortable rooms but it is not luxurious,,,,,,,,, and it is around 30 mins driving from the center of beirut where you can spend the most fabulous nitelife,,,,,,,, i think it is a nice resort,,,, but unfortunately the time i was there ,,it rained ,, so the resort was almost empty,,, but i think, if the weather was better ,,,we' d have enjoyed the resort more,,,,,,, so i would give the beach resort 4 stars and the hotel 3 stars only ,,,,,,,,so i would recommend any1 to visit the resort ,,,,,,especially it is about being in the old city of byblos in addition to enjoying the nice beach and sunbathing and other facilities offered there,,,,

“EDEN SANDS”

Exhausted by a grueling trip to Lebanon from India, I found quite a respite in this haven. The gardens, the privacy of my deck in front of our Bougainvillea room was a lovely buffer to the immense pool in front of us. The variety of restaurant was a delight as they were all better than the other, my favirite though was the Italian one. Tiramisu out of this world...The beach quiet in the early morning has been a nice venue before breakfast. Again food was too much, I must have put on quite few pounds. I had a ball and left Beirut rebuilt and relaxed.

Room Tip: walking distance to care for as the place is vast
