Having been stayed in Intercontinental hotel in Uzbekistan I can assure you that this one is much better and the service is just awesome! Nice and very cute people making sure your stay is perfect. Not sure if that will be allowed to go on with my comment, but Dinara concierge was just always around to help out with any sort of assistance, whatever you may ask her! Raxmet, Dinara! Spent a couple nights at the hotel during last trip to Almaty and didn't regret about that.
Simply awesome service, they always asking you how they can help you, how are you doing, how is going on etc etc. Even when i was at the hotels 2x, 3x times more expensive in Europe i never see such level of service.
The restaurants are very good, quality of the food is really good and prices are acceptable, the room service is ok.
The rooms are very good and clean.
I would like to stay here again if i have a chance.

I spent two nights at the hotel on a recent business trip. The hotel was spotless, welcoming and comfortable. The staff were very attentive and always went out of their way. They organized car service to-from airport, to business meetings and to dinner - reliable, friendly and comfortable. Public areas are welcoming and very usable for meetings, quiet times or socializing. Overall a good experience and I would certainly return here.

The InterContinental Hotel is the best in Almaty. The hotel layout is similar to other InterContinental Hotels (almost a replica of the one in Tashkent). The service was outstanding, as was the breakfast. The only shortfall was health/fitness area. The pool was set up for people who come for a spa, as opposed to those who want to exercise. The fitness center was rather small (perhaps 20 feet by 30 feet) and limited in equipment (I suspect they were replacing the equipment at the time).
