We stayed at Naha Beach Side hotel for 2 nights.

Naha Beach Side is really value for money, we paid 7.000 yen pr. night for a room with narrow double bad and balcony overlooking the sea. This is only one third of what we paid for one night stay at urban hotels of Tokyo and Kyoto. For these money you also get free high speed internet, and small breakfast, but hotel stuff do not mind if you are taking some of your own food to the breakfast restaurant. What we as well were particularly happy about is the hotels own coin laundry, 200 yen/wash, as we were scared by other hotel´s laundry rates( like 280 yen for washing one pair of underware)

Other good things about the hotel: good service, nice personnel (although not well English-speaking), we liked the location- central but a little away from the very city center, 10 minutes walk to main street, 600 yen for taxi, they have really nice lobby, where you can surf freely on the internet.

Less good things: small rooms (no closet), hard and narrow bed, although it had not been too much problem for us, one thing that might be directly incovinient is that they are building highway bridge just in front of the hotel, not because they start working early or make too much noise, but the view out of the window is not the most beautiful at the moment.

P.S. we have not been expecting any beach in front of the hotel, as we had read the previous reviews on tripadvisor.

I went to Okinnawa for the first time this summer (August 08) with my wife.

We were not going for a romantic get away, It was 5 day break to do some Scuba Diving.

We looked up some hotels on the web and in guide books and came across the (Beachside hotel) the pictures were great the beach looked wounderfull in the pictures the beach was beside the hotel and the hotel name dose suggest the it is beside the beach.

But NO the beach is a good 10-15 mins walk and you can not even see it fro the hotel rooms.

But when you do get the the beach if it can be called a beach at all it is located under a freeway (yes trucks and cars raceing above you wile you swim)

The view from the hotel room??? well I think the name needs to be changed to the CONSTRUCTION SIDE HOTEL.

yes you look out from your room at the ocean but there is also a freeway being built right in front of you.

But on a good note the staff were very nice and helpfull but i have to say I will be picking my hotel with a little more care next time.

P.S dont rely on the any photos you see we got a 2008 guide book and the pictures must have been from 6years ago.
