I see, that there are not many reviews in english, so hope this will be helpful for tourists travelling to Okinawa.
We travelled through Japan in march and april 2008 and spent a great time there. Our last stop was in Naha, Okinawa and lived 4 days in this hotel. We were fully satisfied with service and not expecting anything else for this price.
The stuff was very nice nad helpful but with very poor english. We had a little bit problem to found a hotel in Okinawa, where its possible to book it by email 4 month before we come to Japan. But in Naha beach side hotel was no problem. Communication via internet in english was very good. We came to Naha by ferry from Kagoshima and it was easy to find hotel and to get there from the port, its very close. Personnel was nice, room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was tasteful.
It little bit surprised us, that there is not beach, but we didnt missed it, in april is still cold for swimming and this was not our purpose of the trip. Beach in front of the bridge is really not very nice, only nice beach in Japan we saw in Motobu Ocean expo park, Japan coast is not very comfortable for swimming.
Naha is very nice city with very good restaurants in Kokusaidori (main veeeeery long street). Shikinaen garden is really pretty. Must see place around Naha are:
- Underground naval headquarters
- Gyokusendo caves and native village (1 day trip)
And be sure you really MUST visit Motobu ocean expo park, when in Okinawa, but its really far away from Naha. There are some shark whales and oher and its amazing.
