My boyfriend and I arrived in Oita, and checked out another hotel before asking someone what the no.1 hotel in Oita is.
They steered us to this hotel so we booked upon walking in.
The staff were really friendly and helpful, the room was nice, but smelled of smoke.
They were out of non smoking rooms.
It is a 10 minute walk from the station, so if you have a lot of luggage a taxi would be worth it. Otherwise it's a nice walk through a shaded shopping mall.
We were pleasantly surprised by the town, it was quiet and relaxing.

Stayed a couple of nights on business.
The hotel is walking distance from JR station.
Warmly welcomed, i was given a standard size room at a very friendly price.
Quality of services and ameneties turned out to be well above that 3-star price.
The breakfast buffet is also excellent (local dairy produce, house-baked bread...) and will not dissapoint the western traveller.

I was visiting Oita for business, and a representative from the company I was visiting recommended this hotel, saying that this is one of the best hotels in Oita. I took a cab from Oita train station as I was arriving quite late at night. The hotel staff was very polite and helpful with my luggage. The room was clean, and I had a great view of the city from my room. The provide you with a pajama as well. The internet connection from the room does not allow VPN. I had traditional Japanese breakfast at the hotel, which was very nice (although it was a bit pricy). There is a shopping center right next to the hotel, which is nice if you want to buy snack, or gift without paying inflated hotel price. Overall, I had a very nice stay at this hotel, and I would strongly consider staying here again.

This is a great hotel. It is about a 5-10min walk from JR Oita station, which is a little bit far if you have luggage, but otherwise it is a nice stroll from the station through the shopping mall. the rooms are western, beautifully decorated, spacious and clean. there is a coin laundry only a few blocks away too so that was convenient for us travelling for a long time around Japan. highly recommended and great place.
