This hotel is conveniently located a few minutes walk from Hakata Station. There are other hotels closer to the station however. The hotel is clean and comfortable; the rooms are only slightly larger than average. The room I was in was clean but seemed to be "well-used" (see photos).
The most interesting thing is the building shape, in which rooms are set in a circular fashion rather than a rectangular shape. The room itself was adequate but nothing special.
Shampoo, conditioner and body soap are available in large containers (not the small "take-home" kind!), but I was surprised to find no body lotion was provided. (I called and asked but was told they do not provide any).
They do provide disposable slippers, which I always appreciate. In-room coffee, as seems to be standard at hotels of this class in Japan, is provided, but is NOT complimentary. There is a convenience store next door which sells cheaper coffee (not pre-brewed like in the States, just one-cups to which hot water is added to "brew".)
There was some space in the refrigerator for my own drinks and food, although of course it was full of over-priced drinks and snacks. I like it when there is space in the in-room refrigerator; so having space available here was nice for me.
Ice is provided by calling the front desk. Someone comes to your room and gets the ice bucket from the room and brings it back full of ice. They said to freely call as often as I needed. I am happy that there is no tipping custom in Japan! They also cheerfully provided a spare pair of chopsticks when requested too.
In-room LAN is free, as is a daily English newspaper (at the check-in desk). I did not bother with the TV, so I am not sure if there are English shows or not.
I paid extra a couple of days for breakfast. One day, the Western-style buffet with plenty of choices; one day the set Japanese breakfast. I did not realize until I asked that I was eating "fugu"- pufferfish/blowfish! Probably the set menu changes depending on the time of year. There is a nice bakery on site too (which does sell pre-brewed coffee in take-away cups).
The bed was fine- not too hard, not too soft, and I got a great night's sleep.
