We enjoyed our 2 night stay at the Green Hotel here in the this very lively city. Comfortable room, friendly staff. Free internet in the lobby. It lacked nothing and at a good price.

Stayed here for 1 night and the reason why we chose it was its proximity to the train station as we were due to catch an early train the next day. The hotel was about a 5-7 mins walk from the station, and pretty easy to find, in comparison to the other hotels we stayed in during our 9 days in Japan.

For about 9,000 Yen for a double/twin room, it was a pretty good hotel, in terms of value for money – close to that station, English speaking staff, free internet PC in the lobby, clean room and even PJs for you to wear to bed! It wasn’t exactly the Ritz, but it was a pretty good hotel and the toilet was a bit of a novelty, with its spraying water, etc!!

If you just want somewhere to stay which is convenient for the station but clean and has the basic things a hotel should have, I’d definitely recommend this hotel.

There’s a “Family Mart” which is a convenience store, very close to the hotel, handy for when you just need a few bits and bobs.

There is a Hakata Green Hotel Number 2 but I think it’s the same as the Number 1 hotel.

Have travelled to various cities in Japan many times. Usually stay in business hotels so do know that rooms in those business hotels are small. However, the room (double)
we got in this particular hotel is even smaller.
On the other hand, the check-out time is 12PM whilst almost
all other business hotels have check-out time at 10AM or 11AM.
Location of this hotel is good. There are a lot of activities around
the hotel and the train/subway station and bus center

We got to Hakata and found this hotel right near the train station, almost ruling it out given the assumption that such a location would command a high price. Fortunately, this was not so, and after our horrid experiences in Nagano we decided to spend two nights at this hotel (making it the longest stay in any hotel of our trip).

Besides being just down the street from the train station, there was a Family Mart convenience store just across the street from the main entrance, the rooms were comfortable, well maintained, and amenities available. I actually still have the provided folding plastic hair-brush from this hotel in my overnight bag.
