If you are getting into Hakata station, book this hotel now! It is only a short walk down one of the main streets from the Shinkansen station in the right direction to Tenjin. Staff were attentive and pleasant enough, and the hotel is clean.

Unfortunately, as with most of the hotels in Fukuoka, not many of the furnishings have changed since the 1980s. Walking into the rooms is an odd sight: the sideboard with the tea/coffee and television on it looks new and modern (including the LCD TV) however opposite is a lounge and bed suite that looks like it is straight out of a 1960s living room. It quite literally feels like one side of the room has been refurbished, yet the other has been left alone.

Overall, it is clean (albeit slightly dated) and in a good location for carrying bags down from Hakata then continuing into Fukuoka in the night.

Nikko hotels are very reliable, quality options throughout Asia. Central location, fast internet as everywhere in Japan.Near main station.Staff excellent as ever in Japan.

The hotel is near the station for high speed train to Osaka etc.
It is in the business district. Not far from expressway but no noise issue.
Concierge staff and portering very helpful.
Rooms nothing special but everything necessary is there.
Would return.

I booked this hotel because of the proximity to Hakata station. Reception was friendly and professional and allowed me to check in 1 hour before the stipulated 2 pm check-in time which I appreciated. A rather small, unremarkable single room without a view to speak of, but the bed was comfortable and I slept well. Plenty of food and transport opportunities in Hakata station.
