Very helpful staff that speaks English; offered to call Shinkansen ticket office to make arrangements for travel to Hiroshima; when the ticket office was unable to take credit cards via telephone, the front desk agent wrote out a complete letter in Japanese for us to hand to the ticket office @ the station.
The rooms were clean, new, and well equipped. Internet (wired) was free in the room. Wireless was free in the lobby, alongside a common use laptop. Slight downside - no English TV programming.
The hotel is located less than half a block from Gion subway station, and a good 3-4 blocks from Hakata Station. There is a large temple diagonally across from the hotel.
Canal City (shopping mall) is about a 10 minute walk and Tenjin (shopping district) is about a 20 minute walk. Sumo stadium is a direct straightline 15 minutes walk down the main stretch from the hotel.
