We stayed at the Sutton Place in Hakata /Fukuoka in January for 1 week in a double room on the 13th Floor.
The size of the room is 20.42 square meters. The room is big enough for 2 comfortably with modern amenities. The room is very Clean. As good as it gets. The Electric Thermos in the room is very handy.
The Bathroom is a decent size and i have to say it is the cleanest Bathtub and Bathroom from the many Hotels i have stayed in worldwide. Great! The amenities for the guest in the Bathroom are great also. Soap, Shampoo and Conditioner are found in 3 large Pump Bottles in the Bathroom with plenty on Tap to use. The Toilet is a modern Japanese Toilet that is also luxurious.
There is complimentary FAST Internet in the Room as long as you have your Laptop Computer with you. If not, there is a private open room in the Lobby with 3 computers and a printer. (Business Centre)
There is a complimentary Breakfast type service in the morning which is included in the price. It s not the traditional Buffet style but there is a wide assortment of Breads,Croissants, Buns, Toast, Juices, Milk, Cereal, Several types of Tea, Coffee. Everything is Fresh and very welcome. You have it in the Lobby but there is ample room to sit very comfortably.
We did our Laundry located on one of the Floors in the Hotel. 3 Washers and 3 dryers and you can get washing powder from a machine in the same room. Great Machines.
Also there are Tea and Coffee Dispensers on the 6th and 13th Floors with ice dispensers to boot (FREE) Very Welcome indeed.
Ironing Board and Iron-You can borrow these from the Lobby.
The Staff are extremely Polite and welcome all guests on entry and exit. They are very nice. It was not a problem for us but you may have to speak basic English slowly so staff can understand.
*** The one Negative that i clearly see, but this may be the case in most Hotels in Japan is that you get charged per person not per room. So 1 person in my room would get charged 9500 YEN but if there are 2 people the charge is 15000. That is the only real drawback and something to consider. If you are splitting expenses with a friend it is fine.
The Hotel is 5 minutes from the station if you walk fast. Perhaps less than 10 minutes walking slower. You get out of the Hakata entrance/exit of the Hotel and it is 1 left turn go straight a couple of Hundred meters then take a diagonal right(the only right turn) and another 2-300 meters and you're there. Easy.
The staff will happily loan you an Umbrella or 2 if necessary.
Overall we would definitely stay there again.
