Room was clean and tidy but a bit small, but this was expected for Japanese style business hotel in the centre of town. The location was good, close to major shopping district, 10 mins walk to Sunny's supermarket, and the subway station. It was also right opposite our car rental "budget car rental" so it was very convenient. The lobby staffs are very friendly and helpful and we love the nice gesture of offering free facial masks and bath salts to the guest at the counter. It was nice to enjoy a facial in your room after a busy day of walking around. Overall it's a very pleasant experience and i would recommend this hotel to anyone who is planning to see the Tenjin and Hakata area.

Nice business style room. Very friendly service in restaurant but not a lot of English spoken and no English menu! WiFi available in lobby. It's always the best sign: I'd stay here again if in Fukuoka - and what a pretty city it is, with the cherry blossoms and New York (yet clean) feel.

Rooms are small but spotless. Location is prime and staff is as helpful as can be. Great business hotel with laundry room which results very convenient for longer trips.
I must insist on how nice and helpful is the staff. I've stayed at several Richmonds and will stay again. Also, you get a discount if you register for free as a member of the Richmond Club.

As others have noted, after an overnight flight Sydney-Narita-Fukuoka and the subway ride from the airport, it is mildly irritating to have to wait two hours for a 2pm check-in time. It is difficult to believe that all appropriate rooms are unavailable at 12 but available at 14 01! That said the room (non-smoking, corner room on upper floor) was very good for the price, booked through Zuji-Singapore. Relatively spacious by Japanese hotel standards, although it helps to be by yourself. The location is convenient to the Tenjin sub-nade, but a bit of a walk (10 min+) if you alight at the subway station, and you definitely need to print off the map from Google maps to show the way underground. The internet was tops: free, fast and reliable. I was also amused at the need for a separate laundry set aside for the exclusive use of female guests, but maybe there are some quirks about male laundry users in Japan which have escaped me!
