picked nikko mainly for its attached to the JR station. Rooms are perfectly clean and decently sized. Bathroom however is this Japanese style very compact and feels like in an airplane (i sort of hoped / expected to have a normal bathroom for this level of hotel). but again, it was perfectly clean. Additionally, I particularly enjoyed the japanese style public bath in the hotel so I hardly used the en suite bathroom anyways.

Just that this hotel is somewhat pricy, but i suppose cheaper alternatives in Nara would mean less quality though...

The hotel is connected to the JR Nara railway station, which is also a hub for buses, and is also within easy walking distance of all of the main tourist attractions in Nara. Supermarket, bars and restaurant are also nearby. The rooms are all very clean and comfortable with everything that you need for a stay - pretty much standard business hotel style. Despite being near the station the rooms are quiet and mine had a great view. The hotel also has a public bath, which is great after a day of sight-seeing. I would definitely choose to stay here again.

Good position above the JR Nara station makes it very easy to access and depart, also good as a base for public transport to all the amazing places to visit in and around Nara. It is walking distance to many restaurants, shops and old areas of Nara.

Check in was easy with a very pleasant English speaker to assist us. All staff were very professional and friendly. Rooms are ready from 1pm. Check out on departure day is 10am.

The room was spotless, small compared to European/US standards but I would say large compared to most japanese hotels. It was also quiet and we did not have any noise from the train station (though we did ask for quiet room). The bathroom was small, but clean and had all amenities. Tea and coffee making jug, tea and cups provided (byo coffee).

The hotel restaurants were expensive in our opinion. Breakfast was served in the European "Serena" restaurant and was adequate with plenty of choice. However, you may have to queue as there are not enough tables when the hotel is busy. There are many reasonable dining options nearby. (For a special meal we recommend Le Petit Paris Bistro for amazing French food!)

Located very near to Nara JR station, the rooms we were staying were relatively small. Good breakfast with both Japanese and Westenr-style buffet-choice, unfortunately some days long time waiting time before entering the breakfast room. Hotel has some restaraunts and a lounge bar, but they were most of the time closed.
