The title pretty much says it all. Front desk staff friendly and helpful. Excellent central location. Room was a small and a bit utilitarian, but spotless. Bed was very comfortabe.

Best part was the breakfast bar in the morning!

Would definitely recommend for solo traveller.

The Comfort Hotel in Yokohama is in the middle of the tourist area. It is walking distance from China Town which is the largest in Japan. It is great fun walking around the shops and hundreds of Chinese restaurants, and having such a choice of excellent Chinese food. It is also in walking distance from the Minato Mirai complex and the dockland area, which has great shops and restaurant and is surrounded by parks and gardens with brilliant displays of flowers. We stayed at Comfort Hotels where we could in Japan as we found they were excellent value. While the rooms are tiny (as are most rooms in Japan), they are immaculate, with compact bathroom and all the useful items like TV, hair dryer, and bathroom accessories.The windows open, which I found important as we were there in a very cold April/May and the heating in most places is stiffling. What gives these hotels an added advantage is that quite a comprehensive breakfast is included in the price, free computer in the lobby, there are washing machines and drying facilities.

Nice room, large bed, wide desk, internet, washlet (shower) toilet, GREAT breakfast, toothbrush, slippers, comb, shaver, shower/Japanese (deep) bath, clothes line in bath for hanging washed items, clothes rack for hanging washed items, openable window, control heat OR AC depending on the season, non-key, convenient location. About 3 minutes from the station and 10-15 minutes walking to the bay. LOTS of great shops along the way.

Breakfast is buffet style: SALAD, cereal/cornflakes, MISO soup, Milk, Orange/Apple juice (100%), Fresh Ground Coffee (Mmmm available 24 h), 7 types of ONIGIRI (rice balls), 10 or more types of breads/sweetrolls, yogurt, fresh fruit (banana, mikan/tangerine), boiled eggs, jams, lots of things that I can't remember-- great value!!!!
Internet is WIRELESS-- however, ask at the front and you can also borrow a device to allow a wire connection-- probably needs a refundable deposit.
ALSO, you may rent a computer for 500 yen/day OR use the one in the lobby FREE.

SAFE, SECURE, VERY CLEAN, HOTEL!!! Both female and male single or mixed groups stay here including foreigners.

DOUBLE=SIZED BEDS. Some reviewer said that the rooms were small but this is typical for the Tokyo area for this price.

Staff-- very helpful and friendly. Newspapers including English ones sold at the front desk. No public pay phone-- these are becoming harder to find all over Japan.

My daughter, my grandson and myself stayed in a non-smoking room with two double beds over New Year's and overall had a great experience. Positives are: helpful and polite front desk, amenities such as coffee and tea making in the room, coin laundry on 3rd floor, good breakfast selection, baby crib and laptop rentals (WIFI) and nice size, clean corner room. Great proximity to train station also.

I can't think of any cons except maybe the price was higher for New Year's than normal (which is customary anywhere in Japan). Other than that we were very satisfied and would highly recommend this clean, affordable hotel to anyone. When booking I thought it advertised itself primarily as a business hotel but found its clientele to be very diverse since the hotel more than meets the needs of couples, families and single travelers. Very enjoyable stay.
