I stayed on the 52nd floor of this hotel, overlooking the harbor, with sweeping views of the city. At night, it was amazing. I found everything about this hotel to be excellent. It's in a great location, very convenient to trains, shopping, restaurants. My room was very comfortable and the price I paid was very good-not expensive. However, it was a bit pricier than the Royal Park Shiodome in Tokyo, which I thought was interesting...because the Shiodome facility was a slightly higher quality, in my opinion, even though this hotel is excellent. A previous reviewer mentioned something about the room key-yeah, it is very cool (and memorable)...weighs a lot, though, if you carry it in a pocket or purse. I visited the Yokohama Art Museum which is almost next door, within short, easy walking distance. There are plenty of nice places to stroll around the area including the Minato-Mirai area and along the harbor. Nearby, is the Cup Noodles Museum which opened in September of this year. It was very interesting and about much more than instant noodles! There are great interactive displays if you are traveling with children and you can create your own cup noodles, including the packaging. I guess I'm the only person that didn't know about this. During a tour in Korea I was told that "it is very famous." Then, a relative told me the same thing when I got home! The YRPH was a great base to travel from, with easy access to Sakuragicho Station. I visited Kamakura for a day and enjoyed seeing a couple shrines there and shopping...and, of course, visiting Daibutsu (the Great Buddha). I had a great stay at this hotel and would definitely stay there again! I highly recommend it for service, value, location and the views!

Located between the 52nd and 70th floors of Landmark Tower, the country's highest building, rooms have magnificent views. Mine looked out into the harbour and local precinct.
Rooms are of pretty good size, including flat screen TV, minibar, all tea and coffee making facilities, clean bathroom, the mandatory japanese bidet and great water pressure. Wired internet is provided Free of Charge, but you'll have to ask for the UserID from reception.
A large shopping centre is annexed to the hotel, where you will find many restaurants, cafes, some convenience stores amongst shopping. Stores close a 8pm but access to the hotel is shut down at 11pm, when the convenience store closes.

The Airport Limousine Bus comes round at regular intervals (once every 90 minutes on average) to take you to Narita (at 3,500 yen) or Haneda airport, the former quoted at taking 120 minutes to get there. I missed this bus, took a cab to the Yokohama City Air Terminal (YCAT), a journey which took 90 minutes.
Don't miss the views during breakfast on the 70th floor (western cuisine) and the 68th floor (Japanese cuisine). I simply love the service here! Most recommended.

Stayed at YRPH for 10 days in August 2011. It's the highest building in Japan.
Standard rooms, but very nice veiw over harbour, Minato Mirai, ferris wheel.
Gym with a view, but inconvenient opening hours and fee per visit.
Convenient location for Pacifico Yokohama Conference Centre.
Pleasant to walk around Minato Mirai and harbour in the evening.
Helpfull staff, although English is a problem, like elsewhere in Japan.
Abundance of restaurants in the adjacent mall.
Sirius: impressive views, but mediocre food and coctails. Overpriced.
Loved the room key - very stylish.
Would definitely stay there again when back in Yokohama.

Business travellers, this hotel is perfect! Buy the inclusive breakfast to enjoy at the top of the tallest building in Japan each morning. The restaraunt "Sirius" is an outstanding way to start any day!! The location has an adjacent mall which is as useful as any in the world with dozens of varied small restaraunts for lunch or dinner and even convenience stores and drug stores for sundries and various supplies which is wonderful during winter and bad weather. Sakuragicho Station is pretty short walk and most of it is on the covered moving walkway (gotta love Japan!) by a scenic, historic naval and seaside port which is even more exciting at night!

Ok, the hotel is terrific, but mainly for access, great room and breakfast. The area is residential nearby so there are lot of stores such as Staples, wine shops with good selections and the entire Yokohama area is rich in foreign culture so a nice general area to both live and work in. This is much quieter and even can be serene compared to Tokyo, which is about an hour or less train ride from Tokyo Station.

You can take Narita Express to Shin Yokohama and take short taxi ride OR you can change trains to Sakuragicho Station from Shin Yokohama and walk to the hotel...but I never do.

Like all of Japan, I prefer eating dinner out of the hotel....even prefer train station fare to hotel restaraunts to control cost and to me, since i am not a gourmet Japanese food eater - - in my opinion and taste, most Japanese restaraunts are as good as the best Japanese restaraunts in USA and Europe....

Do not go to the Hard Rock Yokohama...it will not make you look cool and the burgers are over priced and not an American burger...those are hard to find in Japan and there are no great burger places in Yokohama either....face it, you are in Japan!

Nearby, you have China Town....YAWN! Not so out of place and special for Americans but it is Different, with a capital "D".....prepare for the head, the tail, the whole fish on your plate....rather than the Chinese food you order at home and is always magically ready in 15 minutes.

Indian food is quite amazing, and I mean HOT! This 1 Indian dining place in China Town nearly finished me....i ate the food, and it was very tasty...about 1 minute later, I knew I was in trouble when I started to perspire. Thankfully, in Japan the beers they serve are much bigger bottles than in USA and I downed every bit of it and then continued to perspire in parts of my body I was unaware could perspire!! I spent a few hours flushing my system but it was enjoyable...!

I recommend getting a Ferris Wheel, water view for the first stay!! Something about awakening and looking out over a world famous port with some impressive ships.

We watched some fireworks from Sirius at night, you have to pay big cover charge and then get some bar snacks (nuts & dried guppies - - mmmm!) and after few hundred dollars of beer, cognac and saki you realize the fireworks are about 20 stories below you! You are ending your day at the tallest point, in the tallest building in the world and people around you all are happy, energetic and without any appearance of recession or decades of recession other than the "No Wait" time to get in....

Great hop off south to very famous areas like the First Shogun in Kamakura (go see Big Buddha!!) and then go to Enoshima to visit a cool Japanese seaside community! Fujisawa has some cool beachy bars (The Woody Club, Shonan's Army Bar) and the beaches are pretty nice!! Quick train trip back to Yokohama and civilization, sophistication of world class level but not quite Tokyo but that is the point....here.

Where else do you get a giant ferris wheel as your clock....? Only in Japan.

Oh the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries museum is great and it is next door and across the street is the Yokohama Museum of Modern Art and lot of shops within walking distance....and none of the Tokyo crush of people....

OK, enough for now, you will enjoy this place...oh and finally, if you do bring children or have 'company' with you, the roller coaster across the street is a lot of fun as are the other rides....but it is fun to just watch other people having fun, too. not too far from Disney World, either...so you could do that, also...

More still, pay the extra money and go swimming!!! Nothing beats swimming in an endless pool 50 stories in the sky while you look at Mount Fuji!!!! A beautiful "swimming" club, you rent bathing suit but if you are well over 100kg I recommend you bring your own unless you are an exhibitionist! They will sell you these amazing swim goggles for $$$ you can buy for $15 at Costco in USA...you shower before doing just about anything in Japan (tubs are for soaking AFTER you clean yourself in shower) then go through the foot bath, people wash, and tip toe in to the pool with lanes...politely enter the pool rather than a canon ball makes a better international impression and then try to gracefully swim with minimal splashing to show you are a Red Cross Water Safety Instructor caliber swimmer, also keeping the personal floatation body mostly submerged to avoid the comments from the snarky Japanese tourists!
