After 26 hours on trains and planes, it really does matter where you arrive - and descending in Yokohama´s Chinatown district, you may think you are in for a hectic ride. Not in the ROSE HOTEL, I can assure you. The spacy lounge oozes wamrth, mainly thanks to the ever so warm-hearted, charming and helpful staff members, who succeed to make you feel at home right from the first, crucial second. I would have thought the rooms were much smaller, but was pleasantly surprised. Comfortable twin beds and a pair of upholstered chairs are a winning combination here - letting you sleep tight and chat to invited friends or guests next door during the day or evening. There is enough space on the wide desk to write letters or use the broadband cable for E-mailing and internet enquiries, free of charge. A small fridge and tea-making facilities arepart of the deal as well as an all mod-cons bathroom which actually combines all the Western attributes - big bath tub! - with the Japanese art of making crucial bathroom operations a real wellness experience. You feel safe, sound and on top of the world here - personell and the manager can only be congratulated for their attention to detail. I love Yokohama, and whenever I´m back, this will only be imaginable in the Rose.
