Moved into Pan Pacific after a 2 day Hakone trip, having stayed a couple of nights at next door neighbor Intercontinental Grand 2 days earlier; PP is 25% pricier and main attraction for me was that it was located in Queens Place and did not have to go outside to access stores and transportation, during terrible heat wave of last week. In addition, Intercontinental was really aging and in that respect, PP, while showing some signs of age and need of renovation, was a significant improvement. I did not use hotel restaurants; the main attraction for both is that they are located attached to or adjacent to the huge Landmark Plaza/Queen's Place malls and food and drink establishments, many of them extremely good and cheap are right around the corner, and the Minato Mirai subway stop (convenient to Tokyo and Yokohama station or Motomachi/chinatown just a minute and steps away literally). Hotel seemed a bit overpriced, but maybe just a function of the surging yen (@ 84, vs about $100 a year ago when I was here, and 120 3 years ago when I stayed at the Royal Park. Having stayed at all 3, I believe the Pan Pacific is probably the best choice (priced in between the other two) and the most convenient.
