Hotel is right near a train station, and very close to the Landmark Tower area. I stayed here 5 nights for a conference being held at the Convention Center near the Pacifico. It was a pleasant 10 minute walk, most of which was through the shopping mall underneath the Landmark/Queens towers. Location was very good, especially for the price (some other hotels do have better locations.
My room had an incredible view of Mt. Fuji from the window. I was kind of surprised, as most of the view was of an adjacent building, and I was not there much during daylight at first - it wasn't until a couple of days into the trip that I looked over and noticed the rest of the view!
There are quite a few restaurants in the same building as this hotel, and the whole shopping center beneath the Landmark/Queens towers is a very short walk (and there are tons of restaurants there). There's a convenience store in the lobby - not sure if it's 24 hours, but it was open pretty early and late at least.
On checkin, I found I had been assigned a smoking room. I thought I had requested non-smoking, but the 3rd party that made the reservation evidently didn't list it (I checked and found it wasn't on my confirmation from them, so they probably never sent it to the hotel). The staff was nice enough to give me a non-smoking room, which also turned out to be an upgraded room! The bed and the room were a bit larger (though still a tight fit), and I was on a higher floor (with a good view, as mentioned).
Breakfast was very good. The room had wired internet. The room was VERY small, with little space to move around. I've been in smaller hotel rooms, but this one was certainly in the small category. The room they upgraded me to was a bit bigger, but still tight.
I had one major problem. When I returned to my room one night, the door would not open. Somehow the latch that you use to lock the door had been knocked back over the post, meaning it couldn't be opened (and it wasn't a lock issue). I've never had something like that happen before, and I think maybe it had something to do with the sliding curtain for the closet being right next to the door, and pushing the latch over when the door was closed. In any case, they put me in another room for a while (maybe 2 hours) until they managed to get in to my room (not sure how they eventually got in!).
I'm not used to the whole "leave your key in a slot by the door" system, and twice ended up locking my key in the room - they were always very polite about getting me a replacement.
As you can tell, the service here was really excellent, and dealt with all of my problems very courteously. Leaving my luggage in storage the last day worked well, also. I don't really have any complaints about the hotel, and I'd stay here again/recommend it. But, it's overall just a pretty normal hotel.
