Nice hotel, nice location with view over the habour area and easy for shopping. Friendly staff.

The Intercontinental Yokohama Grand is placed in a beautiful building with a sailing boat form from the nineties, just next to the Yokohama bay. My room was directly over the bay and the view was great and of a good size. The staff is very polite and very nice. The hotel itself is needing a refurbishment for the expectations you gets for a 5 stars Intercontinental hotel.
My congress was at Conference Center Oceano, just next to the hotel ,so it was the perfect location.
I met some people at the hotel who’s business were in Tokyo. Even if it is only about 40 kilometers far, the public transportation is not easy as you have to change trains and taking also into account that most signs are in Japanese alphabet, it is quite difficult for occidentals. I have to say that on the other hand the Japanese people I met were extremely helpful and polite. But if your business are in Tokyo I would recommend to find some hotel there even if you would have to spend some more money.

After staying in a closet at another hotel this hotel was a very welcome stay. We stayed 7 nights we a view of the bay, had a king bed, and a huge bathroom. This was one of the largest hotel rooms I have ever stayed in. The bed was sooo comfortable, especially after being out all day walking taking in the sites. The location was also great as there was a lot of restaurants, shopping, and a grocery store near by. The staff was very friendly and provided beyond excellent service.

i stay here every december for a convention. this is the nicest hotel in Yokohama with spectacular views and walking distance to everything! Not a very traditional Japanese hotel, but the breakfast is delicious!
