“Port Hotel Narita - at present a good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 November 2011

Port Hotel Narita at the present time, is a good value. Compared to other business hotels in Tokyo, the rooms here are very spacious and so are the bathrooms. Water safe to drink from the tap, fridge and TV in the room. Not to mention they also have a fitness center.
The rooms are not as clean as they could be, as we found in the corners of the rooms cobwebs, and the backing behind the curtains is deteriorating.
A decent buffet breakfast is available at an additional charge (rather high), the restaurant is closed for lunch and dinner until further notice, reason from the hotel - to conserve energy.
They provide regular free shuttle service to/from the hotel to the Airport, shuttles to/from Aeon Mall and Narita City (Narita train stations). If you are concerned about dining, their are many restaurants at Narita and in and around Aeon Mall, not to mention the airport that is approximately 20 minute drive away by shuttle.

Internet available at an additional charge.

Greetings from Narita
Thank you for your review - I was glad to see that overall that you enjoyed your experience.
My apologies that the room presentation was lacking - I have spoken to our Executive Housekeeper and asked for a little more attention to detail.
Again thanks for the positive review

“Ultra cheap at Y3,500 "time sale" price”

I'm not sure how to class this hotel. I was amazed at the price I got it at.....on Rakuten Travel (Japanese version) I think. Anyway, the hotel seem vastly underutilized except for as a last night stop for large tour groups. Originally the hotel must have been of a high standard as the rooms are big, there's a good gym (open 24 hours), a Japanese garden and good restaurant facilities (so it seemed). However I learnt that the restaurant is only open for breakfast and guests are asked to have dinner outside. Luckily there is a small convenience store in the hotel selling standard bento (packed meals) - cheap but nothing to write home about. There isn't even a bar open on the evening. It is obvious to see that the hotel is run by its management (Solare Hotels) on an absolute shoestring with cost-cutting closures for any facility that is underused e.g. bar and restaurant.

So in summary if you are looking for a bed for a very good bed for the night, grab a bento before you arrive and don't expect anything else.

“Would recommend this hotel as great place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2011

I am travelling on my own so the room size is perfect. It has a double bed with a small table and chair at which to write. Tea making facilities are also in the room and it is all absolutely clean. I request a non smoking room which I also got. The hotel has a free shuttle bus which takes you to & from Narita Airport which is about a 10 minute ride. The buffet breakfast is very resonable price which was more than adequate. The hotel has a small shop in the lobby area for snacks, drinks, souvenirs even some clothing. I would recommend this hotel as great place to stay if you're on a short transit through Narita.

“Close and convenient to the airport”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 August 2011

I was only transitting through Japan for the night so this hotel worked great for me.Close to NRT and the free shuttle was great. It does run more frequently at the busier times of the days but when I arrived I waited an hour. Other times are 20 minutes apart. Not bad really.
The small store in the hotel opened in the afternoon and sold enough soup and snacks to get me through the night. The breafast buffet was $16.00 U.S. so I just bought something to get me going in the morning until I could get to the airport.
The hotel was quiet and clean. The staff was polite and spoke enough English to communicate perfectly. The internet usage charge was kinda steep. It was a flat fee of 1050 yen for 24 hours.
The room was clean and modern enough but the mattress was a little hard and the pillow was too thick (I wouldn't complain about that except the combination of the pillow and mattress gave me a severely cramped neck and upper back. The a/c worked well.
Overall I would recommend this hotel if all you want is a room and a shower near the airport for less than $75.00 U.S.

“A large comfortable hotel convenient for Narita airport”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 June 2011

people found this review helpful

I stayed just one night at the hotel and had a comfortable and fairly inexpensive stay. The hotel is very large, and the bedrooms themselves big. Staff were okay, although compared with most of the places I have stayed in Japan, this was very impersonal. There was no spa, nor free internet access. A buffet style dinner (with special rates for seniors like me) and breakfast were very good. The shuttle to and from the airport was efficient.
