This is a hotel you would choose mainly for the location. It is about 10 minutes easy walk from the station and located right beside the Bikan Historical District which is wonderful. Nearby you will also find the O'Hara Museum of Art, Toy Museum, temples, and other sights. It is a very compact area so nothing is too far away.
On a cold day you can walk back to the station via a shopping tunnel, although it appears that many of the shops are empty, or maybe just closed on National Holidays.
The hotel is basic and clean as is very common in Japanese business hotels - they ask for you to leave keys at reception when you leave the hotel, which can be inconvenient when there is a queue checking in on your return to the hotel. . It is comfortable and quiet and I was lucky enough to have an English speaker assist with directions etc.
There are not too many restaurants in this area, mostly they seem to be around the station area, but there are a couple of small restaurants outside the hotel that are ok for something basic to eat.
Overall satisfactory stay in great location.
