This was my favorite hotel in Japan! Though the decor in the lobby was out-dated and the hallways looked warm, the charm of the rooms made up for the lack of character in the other areas of the hotel. This room in this hotel are decorated in a traditional Japanese style. When you check into your room a low table is set out for tea. You sit on tatami mats to enjoy your tea at the low table. When it is time for bed, the staff rolls our surprisingly comfortable sleeping mats. The experience felt very Japanese and totally different from anything I have experienced in my travels elsewhere. Our view of the water was stunning, and we had a balcony from which to enjoy it. I also really enjoyed the hot springs. The saunas are separated by gender, but if you stay up late enough they switch the gender of the two saunas so that you can experience both. I really enjoyed my stay here and I recommend it to other travelers.
