“nice hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

stayed here for only one night in mid july 2011. it was typhoon season and one was moving in so we couldn't go to the beach or anything but me and a group of people had a traditional japanese dinner where we got to wear yukatas and everything. quite a delicious meal! and if we wanted to after we could've went to the 10th floor for the onset bath or go to the karaoke room (can't remember which floor it was on) i didn't go into the bath, just looked inside real quick, nor did i go to the karaoke room but i heard it was a lot of fun. i loved how there was a little store inside the lobby. it was extremely convenient since we didn't want to go outside in the middle of the typhoon. there were also two computers downstairs by the front desk which were also very convenient. plus the chairs they have in the lobby were very comfortable. me and my friends relaxed down in the lobby for a couple of hours during the late night (: the rooms were really nice. most of the room has tatami mats and has a nice table with a few chairs. big tv and you can even go out on the balcony which i liked a lot. i would definitely stay here again

“Fabulous Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 April 2011

We stayed at this hotel March 12 & 13, 2011 - after experiencing the massive earthquake in Japan on March 11, 2011. It was absolutely fabulous. The service was above average and the staff went out of their way to make us comfortable.
The dinner experience both nights was the greatest. A fabulous way to experience true Japanese tradition.
If you get the chance to stay at this resort - please do. It was the best.

“Nice Hotel and Onsen”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 June 2008

We stayed on a Monday because we were avoiding the weekend crowds. It worked because we were the only ones using the baths. We got a traditional Japanese Tatami Room rather than the western style. The room was clean and had a hot pot with hot water already in it for the tea they had in the room. There was a tea set and a few sweets. A small fridge was there for our use, so we bought a couple sodas to store in it. Although, this hotel was clean and by Japanese standards reasonably priced, there were a few things that I was not thrilled with. There were two onsen baths on the 10th floor, which is the top floor so there are no gawking eyes. (You bathe naked of course). Getting off the elevator, if you go through the doors straight ahead, there is the wash area and indoor baths which accomodate about 25 people. If you turn left off the elevators, there is another indoor bath and wash stations that accomodate another 20 people. Then there is a door that goes to the outdoor baths made to look like you're out in nature. This was the best, with an additional 5 outdoor wash stations. I love this so I could cool off with the shower and then get back in to soak some more. The part I wasn't thrille with??? The schedule was women from 3:30pm til 7:30pm and men from 8:00pm til 9:30 the next morning. So, women can only use the baths for a few hours. There were two sets of baths, so why couldn't they have one for men and the other for women? Another complaint......the hotel staff came to lay out our futons on their schedule. My significant other was napping and I tried to convey to them to come back a little later. They not only insisted on doing it right then and there, but was pushing on the door to hold it open, when I was trying to close it, so I could wake my other half and have him put some clothes on before they entered the room. It became a kind of shoving match them on the outside of the door and me on the inside. One last complaint.......the breakfast was not so good. The Japanese (and not to be prejudiced because I'm half Japanese) just can't cook American breakfast foods. Eggs were nasty as was sausages, etc. This isn't the only hotel like this. I've been to others and they were the same. I have learned to eat the Japanese breakfast of miso soups, fish, rice, etc. It is much better. All in all, it was okay, but next time, I will check with the hotel to make sure there was not an alternating schedule for men and women in the baths. I'll try a different hotel next time.

  • Liked — Cleanliness, front desk and breakfast staff
  • Disliked — The onsen schedule, breakfast
