Stayed two nights of a week-end at this hotel, after hesitating between Nikko Kanazawa (in front of Kanazawa train station) and this hotel. Location-wise I do not regret my choice. This hotel is in Korinbo, the very centre of Kanazawa, convenient for shopping, eating out and also for sightseeing. Kenrokuen Garden, 21st Century Museum,Ohmi Market are at walking distance. Small streets behind the hotel are also nice to walk around. Shuttle bus service stop for tourists is steps away. Many public bus services are available from the same stop.
The room was disappointing. Our double room faced on the main road and it was quite noisy during the day time, but at night it became surprising quiet with little traffic. I wonder if it would be the same on weekdays. Our room was tiny. It was a bit dusty: I felt the air-conditioning was not cleaned for some time. The bathroom was with molds. The refrigerator was noisy.
The staff services are good and helpful, up to expectation.
Overall, I found it is priced rather expensive for what it is: we paid over 20,000 yen per night. This pricing is probably because there seems to be little competition in this Korinbo area. I saw a couple of city hotels near this hotel, but was not fascinated by them at least looking from the outside.
We did not eat at the hotel. Oden dish at Amatsubo restaurant was excellent (within 5 min. walk from the hotel). Nabe cuisine at Taro restaurant on the riverside in Nishi Chaya area was also very good: a waitress cooks Nabe and serves in an individual Tatami room and it is not so expensive. Small Japanese inns on this riverside looked interesting and could be alternative as accommodation if you do not mind location and convenience so much.
