Good rooms, with good service. Very nice entrance and reception. Parking in the basement is very convenient.

Down the road you will find lots of nice restaurants and round the corner there is a Starbucks cafe. The only disadvantage was the price of the breakfast which was rather high so we went to Starbucks.

Excellent choice when you are in Kanazawa. Price was good as well, we booked online.

Stayed here for a couple of nights while attending a conference. The rooms are not very spacious but very clean and well equipped. Ample breakfast buffet, very helpfull staff.
The hotel is very well located, some attractions at walking distance, others with a single bus drive...

The Kanazawa Excel Tokyu Hotel is a slightly old-fashioned Japanese business hotel with more than its share of charm. I stayed here for 3 nights in July, 2011 in an Executive Single room on the 15th floor. The room was simple but clean, well appointed and had a nice view. Free broadband internet was provided; air conditioning worked perfectly. The bathroom had all the expected amenities and was kept spotlessly clean. I particularly enjoyed the fact that during the day the hotel burned incense in the alcove by the elevators; it was an elegant touch and the effect was soothing and relaxing.
Although with one exception the staff did not speak much English, from check-in to check-out they were uniformly courteous and polite.
The breakfast buffet was excellent with a large selection of delicious food choices both Japanese and Western. I did not try the lounge or the Japanese restaurant which is a branch of one of Kanazawa's most celebrated restaurants (Kincharyo). The Daimaru department store is directly acorss the street with an excellent depachika (food basement) and restaurant floor. Also, there is a Starbucks at ground level directly next door.
While this is not the most luxurious hotel in Kanazawa, as opposed to some of the reviewers here on Trip Advisor, I would give this hotel a strong positive recommendation and would definitely stay here again were I to return to Kanazawa. The location would be hard to beat for sight seeing in Kanazawa -- right in the midst of things and easy walking distance to Kenrokuen, the Kanazawa Castle grounds, the Samurai District, Oyama Shrine, the Museum of Contemporary Art, etc. Definitely a plus in comparison to the hotels near the train station which are not nearly as convenient.
In planning for my stay in Kanazawa, I found it challenging to select a hotel and went back and forth between several properties before finally selecting the Kanazawa Excel Hotel Tokyu primarily because of its location. I'm glad I did.

Great location in the center of town (tricky to find the parking garage the 1st time though). Room was small, out-dated and poorly equipped. Would not return.
