My daughter and I stayed recently for three nights. Kanazawa was a lovely place to visit, and we met some wonderful, interesting people, and the Old Castle gardens were spectacular! The Hotel was not the "sumptuously appointed" hotel we had come to expect through reading other reviews, however it is a clean and tidy hotel with friendly staff. Our room was tiny, and the bath room was VERY tiny. A bit of a problem - there was nowhere to hang towels, except on hangers in the open cupboard near the door, meant for our clothes. Perhaps this was just a problem with the "end of the hall" rooms? On the plus side the beds were very comfortable, and the rooms were very clean. We used the laundry facilities which were excellent. Washers are free and the dryers 100yen for 20 mins. The onsen is also wonderful! Just try to get there late afternoon or early evening to beat the rush! The breakfast provided was a bit of a bargain! 1100yen for a buffet breakfast - emphasis on Japanese food, and the coffee was OK too! All in all a good experience, and we would stay again, however would check on the size of the room a bit more closely at the time of booking. Location wise, this hotel is perfect - close to the station and the buses.
