There is not much info available on line on hotels in Gifu and this hotel was recommended by my business host. It was easy to find near the station...you just stay on the elevetated walkway over the bus station until the end and then walk up the street 1 block. Plenty of restaurants and shops nearby including an Aussie bar 250m up the street and a beer cellar in the next street westwards.
The hotel was clean and modern but my first room was a smoking room and was smelly. The next room was fine but they are all very small with the double bed against 1 wall and about 1.5m surrounding floorspace.
I booked via tripadvisor by the hotels.com website and it was a little expensive at 135gbp a night although it did include breakfast despite indications to the contrary. A colleague booked direct and paid about 80gbp with breakfast.
The breakfast is only japanese and is more like dinner or lunch food. No fruit or cereals.
Would recommend though.
